MR Cars?

I haven't played this game as much as I have wanted to, but just this week have started playing more often. I'm in the Expert series of races in my A-list now and am trying to do the MR races. The problem I'm having is that every MR car I have is either too underpowered and gets blown out of the water, or seems to have just the right about of power (or more) and handles horribly, and I wreck out multiple times on each lap, finishing in last place, even getting lapped.

Maybe I need to adjust the suspension and LSD settings, but I'm not sure exactly what the best settings would be for a mid-engine car.

So, I guess my question is: Is there a "best" car for this, and if not, what are good starting points for settings on the LSD and suspension?

Finally, I'm new. Sorry for the lengthy first post!
 
I'm a very average driver but I managed by with a bog standard Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
 
This race has some hard ones to beat in it. I used a Lambo Murcielago SuperVeloce, fully tuned. I didnt really do anything at all to the suspension or LSD. Just set the transmission to about 211-217. You could probably get away with using a fully tuned Gallardo. The Lambo's are probably the best cars for their price if you're looking for decent speed and handling.

Aren't Lambos AWD? I think the OP asked for the best car to use in the MR cup.

I used Enzo, but only because I had no other MR cars at the time. In fact Enzo was the third car I bought.

But 430 Scuderia will do it fine.
 
Is the FGT eligible, you couldn't help but win in that. I don't remember what I won it in sadly.
 
Give a Ferrari 458 Italia a try. This has good handling and with some tuning can become a good car for lots of other races in A-Spec.

+1 This is the car I bought and beat all the Ferrari and MR races. Properly tuned on some racing softs the car handles very well. All I did was buy racing suspension, tires, and an ecu. With that the car beat every race I entered with ease.
 
Ferrari 458 Italia. I struggled to control it when I bought it for the Ferrari race at Monza (crap driver) but once I fitted Sports Soft tires it was much easier to handle.

The car might need some upgrade for the MR Sports Cup, but mine has no tuning - maybe sports suspension.

IIRC I did it with the Zonda R that you win in B-Spec somewhere.
Increase the front camber a bit and it handles beautifully... also I probably adjusted LSD to have less acceleration sensitivity like every car that comes with a fully custom LSD or I spend 7,5k on, driving with DS3 is tricky.

Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II from the UCD.

Golded all three races first time out well ahead on first race +5 seconds.
Finished just ahead of Nardo by 2 seconds with only ABS using controller on the second track.
Only .3 at Le Sarthe because the suspention may be a bit soft on compression and too stiff on rebound.
Lost it in the third to last corner and nearly didn't get going again in time.
 
I did mine in a Cizeta V16 I won from somewhere. With it tuned, that challenge was the easiest thing in the game for me.

Isn't that the prize for winning this race? Maybe you got it from a random ticket and now own two Cizetas.
 
Any LM race car should make it an easy race.
 
It sounds like you already have a car to win in .. As you say they handle horribly maybe you drive them wrong try to practice on the test racks and master driving MR cars .. Each drivetrain has it own pro's and cons , MR's are not easy to drive unless you practice on them , then they become great drives. I am not knocking your driving i am asking if you agree MR are hard to drive if so take some time out and learn to put them to full use.
 
I just used a Ford GT '06, ECU, fully customizable transmission (adjust for each race), and racing medium tires. But as mentioned, practice in an MR car is useful, they're tricky to learn.

I think I got it from finishing all of the professional series races.

When it came to my time to do the MR Cup, there happened to be a Ford GT in the UCD. I bought it, tuned it to over 800bhp, and won. So I'd recommend a tuned ford GT.
 
Lotus 111 RM nearly fully tuned. Number wise it is at a disadvantage, but the car is a ton of fun and very capable. The Renault Clio v6 has a ton of potential and handles very consistently. Just some other thoughts from what has been posted.
 
well I'm impressed
most of the supposedly poor handling cars work fine for me, especially if tuned but the Cizeta just did not seem to have much power fully tuned and handled like it weighted more than the Leno Car....
so good job, maybe I'll revisit the car when I get my G-27, my DGFT sure did not seem to bring out any magic in the car :D
