I have noticed a significant difference in wheel/tyre width from standard to custom. Put a new set of custom wheels on the Diablo GT and in replays looks like the tyres are as wide as a toyota 86. So put them next to each other in photo mode and turns out they are. Reverted back to standard rims and the nice wide tyres are back. Car was also 2 sec faster a lap and alot less oversteer without any tuning changes. Same with Cizeta. Could anyone else confirm the same please?

Can you be more specific as to what wheels you put on the car? As in the exact model?

Can't tell wheel names rigth now, but I also noticed every custom wheel I tried so far to look significantly narrower in replays etc. It looks very bad, I'm avoiding custom wheels now.

But I never noticed any difference in handling from those custom wheels compared to stock wheels.

You noticed the width change, then thought to compare them, then decided there was a difference. I highly doubt tyre width is even modeled into the handling engine. It looks crappy on skidmarks and that's a shame.

This 100% effects the MR2. I went inch up in size and the handling went out the window. The rear just lost grip in areas standard wheels wouldn't.

In real life the MR2 has staggered wheels with the rear being 225 and front 205mm. I'm wondering if the staggered tyres are modelled but when you put custom wheels on they don't follow the correct size front and back I.e the custom wheels don't come correctly staggered.

In real life the MR2 spins out whenever it sees a corner.

I guarantee there are some people out there who will be able to get a faster time with custom wheels.
What we really need is for someone to set up an MR2 with and without the custom wheels and have you drive each one without knowing which is which. Then see what happens.

I drive an MR2 turbo daily in sun, rain, snow. For 2 years no problems at all with it spinning off.

I've got a really good tune for the MR2 in GT6 and it's night and day difference with standard or different wheels .

Did it have correctly staggered wheels or 18 inch lopros?

I think it had Rotas of some sort. One time the driver pulled over into a McDonald's carpark and said "do you want anything?" and I was like "no thanks" at which point he started eating what looked like crack with a teaspoon. Never saw him after that.

None of those details are important though I think. And I've ruined yet another thread.

All in all, sometimes MR2s crash, sometimes they don't. Drive safe. I'm yet to buy one in GT6.

Does look crap in replay and photo. I only decided after doing 10 laps same car same settings but changing the wheels only. Im a decent player and get consistant times. While the MR cars are a handful in places i haven't had the issues some are having and have adjusting driving to suit. Just noted a handling difference and did the laps to confirm. If I'm wrong so be it was just wondering if its only me. Cheers.

If the tyre physics/modelling has been updated then a narrower tyre would provide less grip. Please if I'm incorrect someone else verifying or refuting this would be appreciated. Shame is my Diablo looked hot with the wheels, that is until the rear end end is visable. Love the game though and thanks for any feedback provided thus far.
