msn messenger help

hi im having trouble getting connected to msn messenger comes up every time with "sorry we are unable to connect to net messenger at this time please try again later" 80072f0d i cant seem to find the problem im guessing something like firewalls but im not to sure? it happend as soon as norton antivirus un installed itself? any help would be appreciated.

DId it really uninstall it self? It could be a firewall issue.

yea well im pretty sure it did. how do i get to places were i can change the firewall settings?

oh yea and i cant reinstall norton antivirus leaving it open for all types of things.

Just use the edit button and don't double post.

Are you using any progreams for a firewall? For example ZoneAlarm? and are you using SP2 or SP1

What uninstalled itself? (Practically impossible, by the way.)

Also, it could be a firewall problem, but I doubt it. Unless you have an aftermarket firewall installed, Microsoft's built-in firewall will not block Windows Messenger.

sorry bout the double post umm im not flash with computers but ive got no other firewalls or anything like that ive heard other people have had it as well with no solution.

I know MSN was a little stuffed last night for me but I think that was more to do with MSN service as it works fine now.... I have Norton Firewall and that don't effect it.

It could be a bug, becasue, i can't think of anyway Norton would uninstall is self...

MSN was out last night (and the night before), there´s nothing wrong with your computer.

Mine does that from time to time. Uninstall itself? I don't think so. Has anyone else downloaded beta version?

I have the beta version and not had a problem. I have NSW2003 and not had a problem.

Maybe you erased Norton from starting up, it's probably still on your computer...?
