hmmmmmmmmmmm, a
kia--------------NO WAY
-rio-------------- ARE YOU JOKING?
-diesel--------------- WHAT? AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH THE WORLD HAS COME TO AN END!

totally agree with the rest, except, where's the zonda f coupe?

Wasn't the Kia Rio diesel the worst car tested in that Pacific Rim comparison on Top Gear? I think it did 0-60 in 18 seconds!

They only managed to get 2 cars right and a maybe on the other. Veyron and Focus ST are obvious choices and I rather like the Peugeot 407--yea sue me, at least I like something from France.

I think that was the Hyundai Accent 1.5 diesel. :)

What cars would you replace them with?

The inclusion of the Cayman should silence a few people. And I'm very surprised that the new M-class is so different to the previous version.

Good list, well thought out. (Unlike the Forbes one  )

In Europe these cars apply...

Bugatti Veyron- Obviously one of the top cars of 2005, it is simply outrageous.

Aygo/C1/107- Ive herd of the C1 and 107, and they are pretty decent cars for being Frenchies. None of the three would sell that well here in the US, and I'm sure we would never understand why anyone would want to drive a car that small... But hey, where is the VW Fox?

Porsche Cayman S- Another of the top cars that make sense. Its like a back-to-baisics Porsche that reminds me a lot of the old 993 911 than what the new 997 does. I love the looks, and I love the way it performs. I wish they would throw the 3.8L F6 in there...

Kia Rio diesel- Ummm, ok... They are driving the same Kia Rio we have in the States, right? I know the new model is good (damn good as some say) but we are without a diesel option.

Mazda MX-5- Agreeable. Maybe in the US I would have put down the Solstice, but the MX-5 is a good choise nonetheless.

Mercedes M-Class- Interesting choise, thats for sure. Its a great truck, but I would have chosen the Range Rover Sport over the M-Class any day.

Peugeot 407 Coupe- Another reason why I think French cars are strange. Its like they threw the 206 in a taffy puller and decided to build whatever came out.

BMW M5- Okay, okay, enough about the M5 allready. They built what they said they would from the first place, so what? I'm waiting to see how many computer problems it has before the cars shut down, untill then I will wait for a M5 with a true six-speed manual.

Ford Focus ST- It isnt the same Ford Focus ST we have in the States, and if it were here, it would have tough competition from the Dodge SRT-4 and Chevrolet Cobalt SS.

BMW 3-Series- Still the gold standard it always was, the car still kicks ass. Better than the G35, IS330, C350, etc...

Aygo/C1/107 = Replace with the new UK spec 2006 Focus Festiva. Can't go wrong with a mini-Focus.

Porsche Cayman S = Replace with the Aston V8 Vantage (this is a very easy choice)

Kia Rio diesel = My two feet

Mazda MX-5 = While it is a good car I still would put the new Solstice above it. The MX-5 is tired and old, Mazda needs to design a new platform.

Mercedes M-Class = The new Saab 97-X--come on that thing has the LS1 inspired 5.3l Chevy V8 with displacement on demand (DOD)--EASY choice. Yes I'm German but unless it's the "G wagon" don't get a Merc SUV.

BMW M5 = It's hard for me to not choose this car but Pagani Zonda F while 4x more money just has it beat. But I am biased here, I just like the Zonda more than the M5. Take that out of my decision making process and I choose the M6 over the M5.

BMW 3-Series = I choose anything with the Mazda6 chassis...mainly the US spec Ford Fusion if I had to choose.

That's an interesting list. :odd: Veyron? M-Class? Kia? The M5 and the 3er? What the hell?

I'd say the Cayman is a much better value than the Aston, considering its performance, but the Aston is much more bad***, while also being more on the practical side. I'd go with the Cayman simply because it's more of a "new" idea than the Aston. :)

I agree that the Kia shouldn't be there, but how much cargo space do you have, and how well could you keep up with traffic?

The new Miata/MX-5 is a new platform. :) It just looks the same.

I agree that the M-Class shouldn't be there at all, but the 97-X? Come on, that thing is a useless example of badge-engineering.

I think the M5 is more deserving than the Pagani or M6 simply because of its practicality. What can I say, I'm a softy for performance sedans.

I disagree with the 3-series to Fusion/Mazda6, but I do so primarily out of personal opinion. :p

In my opinion the Cayman is just a filler spot for Porsche to save some money while making a nice little profit, they should have designed a completely new platform and WOW'd us all with something new for a change. Since I don't count the Cayenne as existing I will say they've only come up with the Carrera GT lately in the last 100 years. But, the Aston IS a badass which is exactly why it should win hands down. If the Miata is on a new platform they really needed to update the styling more--but I understand why they didn't. Most people aren't adept to or accept change. The 97-X is pimp and quite fun to drive for an SUV. I'd get that before I'd get just about anything else...except maybe a Nissan Murano or Porsche Cayenne (lol how's that for me being a hypocrite :sly: ). The M5 has a home in my heart but the M6 is a new thing from BMW--the M5 has been around for a while just in a slower form...and dear god how can you not want a Zonda F over the M5...seriously. If I had millions of dollars/quid I'd obviously get one AND a sport saloon. I understand your last point--that's one reason why Input the Zonda F over the M5. 👍

...You are aware the 9-7X is a Chevy Trailblazer with a Vortec 5300 and a Saab front end, right?

Better interior, better ride, and MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better looks. So I deem it different and worth existing unlike the rest of GM's SUVs. And since when is it a bad thing to have a Saab front end and a 5.3l Chevy V8? :sly:

Dont get me wrong, I love the 9-7X and it is what the Trailblazer and Envoy should have been before Saab got their Sweedish hands on it...

But for the price, all I have to say is "Humph"... I'll just wait for the 2007 Tahoe.

The "nothing new" thing is actually why I think the Cayman deserves to be on this list more than the Aston.

I never said I'd take an M5 over a Zonda -- just that I think the M5 is more deserving of an entry in this list. :)

If I had the money, believe me, I'd have both the Zonda and the M5.
