Hey, I was just reading through the nominations and although I only got a quick glance, it turns out that groups like Korn etc are being called Hard Rock.

Wasn't it Nu-Metal?

What do you guys think of this?

Also, I'm going to start an article on the Rap/Metal divide. Anybody who has an opinion they want voiced in it are free to PM me.
 
Does it really matter? Korn sucks.

I'd classify them as Hard Rock.

A reasonable band 4/10 could try harder!

And they could drop the pretnsious crap.... they're just a band. We the CD buying public make them great, nothing else.

Korn suck I know but they were just an example, I think Puddle Of Mudd was there as well.

By the way, a parrot rattled my cage.
 
Puddle of Mudd sucks too. Except I really like "She Hates Me."

I'd classify them as Post Grunge.
 
KoRn is not Nu-Metal...
Bands like Slipknot and Chimaira are the perfect example of Nu-Metal (with a healthy does of speed metal involved)

hard rock, nu-metal? why argue over what mtv classifies them as? personally i'd say they're hard rock but the definition of a genre changes over time. like 40 years ago who knows what was called hard rock? but it's mtv, they couldn't accurately classify music if their ratings depended on it. they call blink 182 and sum 41 "punk". which shows you their really bad understanding of classifying music.
