Has anyone out there played head to head with two PS2's using the multi-lan play in arcade mode? I have two PS2's and have been trying to use my cable router to network them so I can play head to head with some friends when they come over. So, far I have not had any luck with this. I am using a Dlink DI-604 Broadband router. I followed the direction in the games manual but still no luck. The only other thing I have not tried is using a cross-over cable and directly hooking the two PS2's together. I would like to avoid this, because one of the PS2's is hooked up to my computer for capturing my vids. I would rather not have to move it when I want to play head to head. Anyone Please help. :(

This is all under Options / LAN settings

1) Make sure one PS2 is set to host=yes, other is host=no.
2) Set the correct number of players on the host machine; also set network traffic=light.
3) When connecting, start connections on both machines at relatively the same time.

If you can get one machine to work on Xlink Kai, this should be a breeze for you.

Anyway, come back to say if you did it or not. And if you could actually play...
I might be doing the same thing not very far in the future... :)

Just follow the instructions given by the updated GT4 guide somewhere in the forum. We're playing every monday night, 3 friends and me, it is so much fun!
And soon, we will be 6 in the same room... :)

I did do a search first and it turnned up nothing but how to connect to x-link. Thanks for the link to the thread though. I appreciate it very much. I have still not been able to get this working through the router I have so, I am going to try the crossover cable now. I think there is something wrong with my router. wish me luck.

NO if you would open your eyes, you would see that there are stickys, with FAQs, you didn't look there, there many more, now go look!

O.K.!! no need to get mad. I am still new to the whole forum thing and am not quite sure how to look for stickies. I did a basic search in the search bar on top of the page. O.K. I found out what I should have done. Sorry for the confusion. I'll make sure to look more in the threads than just a basic search.

I'm not mad, but stickys are in a hard to miss place. That is the whole point of them.
