In series such as FIM World Superbike, Australian V8 Supercars, AMA Superbike, and select other series, you'll normally see certain races at a single venue. A few examples I can recall is the Australian V8 Supercar series. I heard of two or three race events at Adelaide's street course with the Aussie V8s. Now, if PD considers multi-race events in championships, there would have to be some races not run more than once. To use Australian V8 Supercars as an example, an example of a one-time deal is Australia's most prestigious race course, Bathurst. With the Bathurst 1000, it is more of a classic race that's a great year 'round event. Then too, I think Bathurst is a semi-permanent race course, so I don't think you'll see a lot of races at a track like Bathurst in one year. GTPlanet, would you want the next GT to feature a multi-race format in which you're at a certain track for a two or three-race weekend? To give you an idea, imagine a series like this: Autumn Ring Mini Normal, Grand Valley Reverse, Tokyo R246 Normal, Deep Forest Reverse, and Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course. Let's say that the first race will be a three-race deal, Grand Valley as a two-race event, Tokyo R246 as a two-race event, Deep Forest for three races, and Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course as a one or two race deal. GTPlanet, do you think for some championship series that a multi-race format should be adopted?

Other examples of championship series with multi-race events include GP2, most American sprint car series, Super Truck Racing in Europe, just to name a few.

I'd like to see BTCC (or is that ETCC or both of them? don't remember which one has this...) style reverse grids for the second and third race... but only if there are enough laps to get past 1st place.

I'm sure a couple of short heats (10-20laps or so) would be better than 70 lap F1-style.

And yah, multiples at one venue would be more realistic... as well as one-lap qualifying...

BTCC has 3 races at each venue, they qualify for the first, then they start the second (I think this is the order) in the order they finished first but with ballast handed to the top runners, then the third race is a reverse grid, first starts last, second starts second to last ect. I wouldn't mind different championships having different regulations like that, diferent structures ect.

Live4speed, the reason why I didn't mention the BTCC was because when I remembered seeing BTCC coverage on Speed in the past, I thought it was a one-race deal for each track ranging from Siverstone, Snetterton, Oulton Park, and let's not forget the awesome Brands Hatch.

I would like to see how PD would implement a multi-race deal for certain tracks. Maybe next to a track event when choosing championships and race series, I can imagine the track icon having a number next to it, indicating the number of races that will be run at the track. For example, if you're in a Touring Car series (assuming there will be one for the next GT. Last series with a Touring Car deal- Gran Turismo 2 (then the ONLY time)), you would see Grand Valley East Section, then maybe a number "2" to note that there will be 2 races there. To be interesting, you can imagine that a race occured with different conditions. This can be implemented in a few ways. Assuming an event will have two races, both days can have the same conditions, one race occurs in daylight while the next takes place in the evening or at night, one race occurs with a dry track while the next takes place with a track soaked in rain, or two races with two different times of day with different conditions.

The other possibility would be that one race could be one configuration, then a different one for another event. Using a 3-race Grand Valley weekend, imagine that race one took place on the East course in a normal direction, the second race takes place on the East Course in reverse, then the final event would take place either in a different time of day or with a different configuration, perhaps even race the full circuit. The premise here is that multiple-race events have more than one race at that track in a given weekend or a given time. How would you want this to be done?

A.) Race a multi-race event. Able to save between races.
B.) Race a multi-race event. Not able to save unless the full race weekend is complete.

hm...

Not bad the idea.

But give us the chance to Save betwenn the races... (Sometimes I don´t have soo much time for GT)

Have Fun

What kinds of series from Gran Turismos 1 through 4 would benefit with a multi-race format? For example, the Touring Car series in GT2, Beetle Cup in GT3 and GT4, etc.? How do you think this should be implemented, if PD takes up on an idea to have multiple races for a championship?

Remember. This multi-race format relates to a championship race series having several different races at the same venue on one given weekend. The Australian V8 Supercar series provides the best example I can give about this issue. When I mean "multi-race format," I don't mean just one track in one direction as one championship round, then that same track in a different configuration or direction. With that said, offer some more of your ideas, if you please.
