From previous Gran Turismo series when you raced in career mode/compain you raced only against mutiple AI's. The idea with multiplayer compaign/career mode is that people from the world can join you in a race against the AI. Not only will the career mode be much funnier, but also more competitive. You should offcourse have the choice to turn the multiplayer compaign mode off, so you can race against the AI alone just like previous GT's or if you don't have internet you should also be able to do career mode.
I can imagine this beeing very funny when e.g. you race in a championship/cup and collect point to win the overall race against other people. If a person decides to leave in a middle of a race or championship, he is out of the race obviously.
People around the world would search different championships, challenges, cups and so on against other people and not just AI's.
The different between multiplayer compagin mode and regular multiplayer is that in the regular multiplayer mode, you race for fun, there are no cups, challenges etc. you only get money and expoint.
In your multiplayer career mode you have a profile where your won races/cups etc. will count. A system can be made where same level players meet so it's not just coincidence. In every Gran Turismo game, when you finish your career mode or a challenge/cup chanpionshup you almost never do the race again, except when you need money. You will almost not do any career races again and turn to multiplayer or seasonal events, but implementing a multiplayer career mode, will make the player play career races all the time just like regular multiplayer. Because first of all it will count on your profile how many championships, cups and so on you won, second you race against other people just like you would in multiplayer and not just AI's.
How it works practically:
In your career mode, you choose a race, lets say "FF Challenge" or "Sunday Cup" and you wait for other players to join the race, or you can just start immediately if you don't want anyone to join the race. When you inter the race, you start at the pit, and can do some warm up laps or just wait, the maximum wait is 2 min. for other players to join the race.
Lets say the maximum cars in the FF Challange are 12 cars, obviously there are you who race and there are room for 11 more cars, these 11 cars are AI's, but if a person joinst the race, there would be 2 players and 10 AI's, and if there are 3 players, there would be 9 AI's and so on.
The previous Gran Turismo have always been the same regarding career, i think this will refresh the title and come with something new which the franchise needs.
Now this will of course not be in GT Sport, but it's more a suggestion for the future Gran Turismo, maybe GT7.
I hope Kazunori will take this suggestion in consideration for future GT games.
