I see many people ranting and raving about all the rice burners, beamers, overrated vipers and other new expensive cars.

Where are all the muscle car lovers out there?

I myself would rather have a 69 Chevy Chevelle SS with the big grunt, big block 454ci chevrolet carby V8 than a viper any day.

What do GTPlanets members have to say?

( expects certain people ranting and raving about vipers  )

Well, I voted for 'New Shiny Luxo $$$ Cars' becuase I reckon that's the section that the Viper comes under :D (sorry, couldn't resist, just had to say that)

hmm...

Greddy Turbo t78: $4,999

, not near viper expensive ;)

I heard some news, Chrysler is going to bring 25 '03 Viper RT/10 over to Australia and convert them to right hand drive. Happy days!!

just admit though, you'd be staring if a Viper drove past your house and I bet you don't stare at all the Commodores as they go past, except thos caramelly coloured ones...

there's lots of nice cars down brisbane way isn't there. Last time I was down there, I was at Southport on the Gold Coast looking at the car dealers and I saw this sweet as Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, and a Jaguar XJ220

Viper=8.3L displacement
454 Chevy=7.3L displacement
Which is the big block?

I'm partial to 390 cid Mustangs, Boss 429 powered Falcons,
Early (pre-1968)Corvettes, 1969 Camaros (big and small block)
And 383, 440, and 426 Hemi 'Cudas and Challengers.

Ain't dissin' the Viper. If God needed a car, he would probably drive a Viper, if only just to piss Satan off.
(Apologies to Mark Cohn) :D

Well here in the UK, it's reasonably important to have good brakes and excellent cornering abilities, since there aren't that many straight pieces of uncongested road.

Therefore I went for the Luxo $$$ option.

i voted V8 b/c it's my uncle's hobby, he's got one of the fastest car in Salt Lake valley

i like ricers more though

GO RICE!!!!!!

While I prefer nimble, sporty cars, I do have a fondness for the old muscle cars. When I was a kid, my parents had a string of them and seem a little sick when they see what the things sell for now. (Especially Road Runners, that thing was a piece of...well...you know). And my first car, while not one of the classics, was a big Plymouth Grand Fury with a massive 440 cubic inch V-8 engine. Fortunately, I survived the experience.

So, I guess my answer is, yeah, I like 'em, too. And when I happen to see a reasonably-priced 65-69 Mustang, I get pretty tempted to buy it.
