Music Question

I think I may be having a technical problem, but I am not familiar enough with the soundtrack to be sure. For the race bgm, are there any songs without a vocal part?

I'll be doing an event and occasionally a song will start that does not seem to have a vocal part, and I have noticed a similar problem with another game where a particular instrument in a song does not seem to play during one musical track in particular. I'm trying to find out if this is a data transfer problem (are there any known audio problems with HDMI?), or if there is a potential problem with my PS3 or TV. So far, I have not run into any similar problems with movie playback on the PS3, so I'm thinking it is likely an issue with the game.

Note, this is not the same problem where music will randomly not play upon the beginning of a race.
 
It's very unlikely that one instrument could be missing. Music isn't stored as a collection of instruments that are then played back together, it's just 1s and 0s.

It may be possible I suppose that you have some surround sound setup and the vocals are being sent to a speaker that isn't on? That's about all I can think of...

That's what I thought at first too, but I doubled back to make sure that my PS3 was outputting in a two channel mode, which, at the moment, it is. All audio output from the PS3 is in a digital format, then?

There are plenty of racing tunes in the game that don't have any vocals in them.

Yes, problem solved. All of the Gran Turismo series has had BGM tracks with no singing.
 
Well...I don't listen to music while I race, but when I do listen to music, I prefer to have it without singing while watching replays.👍
GT2's soundtrack for Pal Version, was the best soundtrack for Lyric free music, GT2's soundtrack was fantastic! I still consider some of GT2's music to be my favorites.;)

Thanks. I'm not sure why I thought all the songs during racing had vocals.

I played around with some TV settings (I recently got an HDTV; I was worried about potential problems), and it has a built in equalizer, so I set it to a neutral level, and things sound a bit more normal. However, things still don't sound quite like they did on my last TV. Naturally, I upgraded to HDMI from the regular inputs for the previous TV, but I don't know how much of a difference, if any that makes in the sound. I'll play around with the equalizer a bit more to see if that is the major difference.
