Condensed GTMSA General Competition Rules

This race falls under the GTMSA GCR for Online Racing. All standard online rules apply including​

  [*]No Cheating, Hybrids, Sharking, or running incorrect settings. Run the car I set up for you.

  [*]Try and keep two wheels on the road at all times. No shortcuts.

  No wall-riding. It slows you down. It's also a good way to get a penalty.​
  [*]Contact will only be allowed as long as it is not intentional nor gives the player any advantage.

  Save some sort of proof of your race time and setup for clarification upon request. Digital Pic, replay, video, anything that can show total time and settings used.​

OK, finally a shakeup here for the first place AND the fastest lap. Guess Nick's adventures at 4 am might not have made for his best try at this.

MadMax86 takes 1st place and the fastest lap.

Smallhorses is a close second.

And raz_10 rounds out the podium. Look like we are in store for some close battles at SFGTP4 next weekend.

For the series to date, Smallhorses is in first, MadMax has moved up a spot into second, and I'm rounding out the podium.

The places are fairly locked in, unless someone forgets to submit.

On the handicaps, RACECAR and Marooned are the only racers with changes. Please note accordingly. 👍

Gave it a try last night and finished 1st, 2 or 3 more sessions to go for me, there's a lot out there

We just are not ringmasters.

I spent more time on the WRS than any of the other races, but kept crashing trying to pick up the 5 seconds or so that I knew was out there.

I only ran it so much because I knew that's where we were going next in the Beamers.

And our laps were nothing to be ashamed of at Nurb. It's a tough track and most of the guys who put in good times know it very well.

Kenny (01GTP) runs it every Sunday at LAN.
DJ Baker always does well there, this is his second straight D2 win there.
2078 TM is always consistent there and had a D2 win in WRS week 140.
Only Me Almost always wins D3 there.

And that's almost all the racers.

It's one off the toughest tracks in real life
Yes our laps are ok, but for me i actually didn't give it that much time, i was busy with the Beamer & MX-5
I enjoy racing at Nurburgring although i don't like using a 4WD car, FR is my fav. like the Beamers now...i'm trying to figure out the LAN thing, i read that i can race online VS other players

I had a couple of attempts at this race this time. The first race was good, nice and clean, minimal contact with other cars on difficulty 7, but on one of my clear laps after I'd passed everybody I took a corner too quickly, and for a split second all four tyres were off the road, so I had to DQ it.

My second run was much better. I actually managed to pass everyone fairly quickly (the field was lined up differently and with one car different which led to them going slower over the first few laps) and had the rest of the race clear, right up until the last couple of laps after a Dodge Neon SRT4 had pitted and exited just up the road. My last couple of laps were a couple of seconds slower than my average pace. Couple of AI contacts overall, just people nudging me slightly on the way into corners.

Quite enjoy Tsukuba but by the end of the second race I was getting a little bored

Whaaaatttt?! Why didn't anyone tell me the WRS was doing the ring??!! I can't wait till the last round though. I love the ring. Anyone drive this course in a Group C car with no Aids or in a FGT car?

Got up early (4am!!!) to watch the English Football again, and have been having a go at this race while it was going on. Got a submissible race, one possible, but not definite AI contact. (Mazda MazdaSpeed 6 gets close to touching the back of me at the 3rd hairpin on lap 2)

Fastest lap spilts are:

T2 35.5xx

Well - I just finished my run as well.

Set the AI to +8, and ended up with almost the same lineup as my Suzuka race.

3 of the 4 cars I passed rewarded me with a bump in the quarter panel, but let me assure you, I was already back on the gas and on my way out of the corner on each. 2 occurred in turn 3 and the other in turn 7. I'll post my replay with the results to keep things on the level. 👍

I was typically running in the 35.8-36.1 range at T2, so I lost about 3.5-4 seconds with small mistakes in various areas.

In this race I had 12 AI contacts,
but what'd you expect when you have passed AI with the difficulty setting of 10

on lap 11 had one close all in corner #4
similar to the one that I had in ARCAT Infineon Raceway - Stock Car Course with the Camaro LM

finished 2nd after NSX simply because all 4WD's pitted in. 💡

MadMax86! That's some excellent Miata-ing there! 👍

I can't blame the early-morning for this one, I raced repeatedly from about 4am when the first game kicked off until almost 11:30am when the last game finished, having watched 3 full 90 minute football (soccer) matches while I was racing! The beauty of getting internet streaming-coverage on a laptop that I can place (relatively undistractingly) in front of my racing screen!
I must admit to aborting several race due to goals being scored though!!!
Gave this my all, and found a +8 lineup that was pleasing to race against and found a frighteningly consistent groove with about 4 consecutive laps all within 1/10th s (1'07.6xx)

As Kevin well knows (from SFGTP3, and hopefully some epic repeats at SFGTP4 next weekend ) I'm sometimes better pleased and ultimately contented to finish a fiercely-fought and cleanly-contested race just a few 1/10ths behind the winner, than I am to win a race by a huge margin!
It's part of what I'm used to with the stock 200 A-spec point quest that I've tried to stick to for most of my GT4 career!
I pretty much suck at driving high-HP race cars and anything involving finicky-tuning.
Stick me in a stock car and I'll happily keep punching like "Cool Hand Luke"
Those of you who're familiar with my (often excessive) ramblings in the GT4 race reports forum know what I mean!
(This is just one example, if you've no idea at all what I'm talking about though! )

Mercedez 190 (5th)
Neon - (6th - 1 lap down )
Can't remember the 4th place car
me ( 1st)

I had a tap here an there on lap 2 trying to avoid and pass these guys, never really had much competition after that as the S2000 and Iroc Z were battling for position until the S2000 finally took over 2nd!
I like 18 + lap of this track; rather than 7 on Montegi
