I was using a MX-5 which is unmodded, no aids and N1 tires to practice drifting. i heard this is the best way to practice drifting, just wondering if anyone can post a vid of them using a MX-5 which anit modded and also using a dualshock controller. i want to see what im doing differently compared to you guys. thanks

Than i reckon this would be the best way to drift, using under powered cars. I reckon you try Tsukuba wet, as it name states it self. My best advice, keep practicing. I'ev used Wet tsukuba to drift cars like a stockie S13 K's 1800.

well i am using a MX-5 as well but it isnt stock but not fully modded and also using a Control pad as well and i am getting betta and this is my 4th day at drifting

Best way to do it is to experiment with different cars.

One car that completely surprised me [stock], was the Sileighty. Equip it with N1 tires, and it'll slide all day long, and is very predictable.

Can't say I've had experience drifting a Miata. Hardly even drive any of them Grip-style. :D

there are also few underpowered cars that don't need going to Tsukuba wet in order to drift: stock MR2 '86 for example. it's a car that beats NSX on El Capitan. without any mods, and has less than half of the power.

i was trying to drift the MX-5 in the Apricot Hill track, i am not able to keep the drift very long. is this because the car does not have enough power to keep longer drifts?

EC my MX-5 has 245hp and using N2 Tyres. I can drift around the corner coming onto the straight without spinning or stuffing it up but not the otha long corner. i am trying to drift it myself..

that's right.underpowered and light cars have enter the corner with relatively quick speed in order to maintain the drift thru the corner. same applies to cars that have high mechanical grip, and with those, you have to get pretty wild in order to get and keep them sideways.

the mx5 is a great little drifter one of my favs... a true (small) sports car i usually by the older ones (95 and older) i just like them better:tup: :sly:

I would add a 2 way LSD, I have an Izuzu 117 that is bone stock other than a race exhaust and 2 way (126 horsepower), on N1's the thing drifts as well as my NSX that's got much more tuning.

This week I was trying to drift a MX-5 and I thought it all went wel, untill I watched the replay... guess what, I didn't see any smoke... I thought it was quite a bit sideways but not enough I think... and drifting without smoke is something that I can't call drifting...
