So bought my first car..changed oil, overhauled engine, tuned it with all the basic stage 1 parts and have strolled through the Sunday Cup in the beginners section.

How far do I go with the tuning...shall I keep racing and tuning it to the max...or just save up and maybe buy another car and tune that etc...or doesn't it matter too much...go with the flow...

If you want, pick a car from my garage and I can send you it (for free) http://www.mygranturismo.net/carlist.php?garage=11986&range=2000&start=0 It would save you worrying about wasting cash on tuning etc. I managed to waste tons of money tuning the wrong cars at the start of the game. The special events are good for unlocking money if you are low.

I wouldnt pic anything too powerful or you wont really be racing though lol

Something like this would be ideal "CIVIC TYPE R (EK) RM '97" its around 220hp with mods removed and over 350hp with all the bits added.

Why don't you just try it yourself? No offense at all but you can't do almost anything wrong till about level 20 and/or expert series! And you win cars you can use and you soon find a favourite of yours...

You'll need different cars to meet the requirements of many of the lower-level events, so I'd start keeping an eye out on the UCL for cars that will satisfy those special requirements: e.g., FF, lightweight, pre-'79 Japanese cars, etc.

Starting with that Miata, running both A-SPec & B-Spec and choosing your route wisely based upon the prize car list that's linked above, you can get through all of the first two tiers and about half of the third only needing to buy 2 more cars (a classic muscle car & a truck).
