I just got a new ( used ) car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical things: If the dampers haven't been replaced already they're probably on their way out. Listen closely for clunking sounds when going over small annoying bumps that you wouldn't think would cause noise. Also, check the rubber suspension bushings as they're probably old and nasty. Consider polyurethane replacements for improved suspension movement and longevity.

It has a "cold air intake" installed right next to the exhaust so that will need to be fixed

This is pretty typical for Miatas because the stock intake wraps around the front of the engine to the other side where the exhaust manifold is. Silly, right?

If you're looking for somebody with info on common Miata problems to watch for get ahold of @speed junkie.

Did my first bit of shopping for it. Getting ready to do the belts, brakes other small things (gotta start somewhere):

The thing that really sold on the car is just how smooth the suspension is. Not a single noise, even going down pothole road :lol: Maybe it has had that done? I'll find out soon.

I'm a little worried about the clutch. I don't have any experience to go by, but it seems to have a very short engagement window. Not very progressive.
