I bare it all on Midfield 2 with my Chaser using Perg's settings, forgot to turn off all the read-outs but I don't really care. Used PS2 dual shock analog controller. Comments and Crits welcome, i used mostly power-over but on the 1st turn and a few others i used a bit of feint to initiate the drift, THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Very Nice work there Lue...

Yeah, the Tom's X540 Chaser is a FR, its a very nice car to drift in, high power and more than enough control, took me a few tries in the AM altezza race to get it though...(grumble grumble)

Nice :)

My set up for Tom's include less power and sims... you will be amazed how smooth the car controls and what angles could be achieved.. my next vid will feature some Chaser clips... be on the lookout for it :)

not really, this was a special case. I used to drift a AE86 with 120hp on SIMs when ProjectD was still around, i actually drift alot of stuff but latly the Chaser has caught my eye.

I loved the vid and the drifts, absolutely wonderful. I don't have a chaser so I can't comment on the car but you're good with it and I hope we see some more from you with other cars as well. Keep it up!

Good stuff man! Kinda choppy in some places(just like me) But overall quite good! Keep it up!

thanks guy, means alot. Yeah originally it was a 29mb clip shot from my Canon S400, but i figured it might be too big so i down-sized it to around 4.25 through windows movie maker (very crappy program, the poor mans editing tool) and it became very very choppy. I'll try and take down this clip and put up the original and see how that goes.

ok here it is, its not the original however, but its a few mbs larger which emans quality "should" be somewhat better http://donutz.toxic-labs.com/Chaser Midfield2.wmv (once again please "save as")

Once i get the hang of doing all this stuff, i'll be sure to make better vid with all the different cars in my stable.

pretty nice! i raced the altrezza race to win tom's chaser but i accientally got LM race car :P
oh well, i always wanted it anyways, i'll race again and get chaser. :)

do you have a good setting for chaser?
PM away~

thanks for the all the positive comments, but in all seriousness, it there anything i need to work on? I just got my Driving Force Pro today and I'll need some serious practice before i do anything else.

Not bad...

You're preaty good, the video quality I guess can't be helped but otherwise you seam preaty good. I'm uncertain about the way the Chaser behaves, you seamed to have tapped the gas a lot going into corners, I dunno why ya do that so I'll just ask why? Is it becuase to maintain control and also keep the engine in the powerband? If that's the case, I would sugest putting a bit more finese with the buttons, mainly the accelerator, try and not jab at it but be a little more smooth...er...it's a bit hard to describe since for me it's natural, just don't press the button all the way sometimes if you want to keep the engine from bouncing off the redline constalty.
Besides that I can't think of much else, you seam to have a good idea on how to drift. Oh yeah, this, I noticed you prob use the D-pad right? Try the analog joystick for more sensitive steering control, take it from a person who's been using analong for just about as long as GT's been around (GT 1 2 and 3...), you seam to do preaty damn good with the D-pad, it may sema a bit odd to go with the joystick but then again that's just me.

The only other thing can can figure is that after the left/right chihcane that leads to the uphill medium right that banks a little...you can keep that skid going so you can shift the weight and start another drift for the left turn there... (I think turn no 7 or 6 reverse...) for a better drift, if I had a video capture card, I could show you with what I did with a Camero Z28 or Corvette Z06 as it was preaty aweesome. Besides that, great job there.

That's about it, till later.

Yeah, basically you're pretty good.

As R-Riders said. Don't "jab" the throttle so much. It makes the car less stable.

Also you're braking too much. I don't mean that you're going to slow. But you brake, and then get back on the gas, then brake again. That must make it hard to get the drifts smooth. I know the chaser is a pretty fast car. But try to do some later braking.

Oh, never again use the d-pad. And I do mean never. Very few people that I've ever seen can actually use the "analog" function of the Dpad(except Sheron, still trying to figure that one out). You've got a wheel, it's going to take A LOT of getting used to(I use the Logitich DF wheel). However it's very much worth it.

what's wrong with d-pad?
since i don't have wheel, i ust analog :guilty:

analog is fine. Most of the veterans of drifting here use the DS2. So that's fine. Just stay away from that Dpad unless your navigating an option menu!

As i said in my first post, i use the analog controller. In GT3 no matter what ur using the steering will go all teh way unless u do it very gently. I recently purchased a DFP and will start practicing with that once i get my PS2 back. I jab @ the gas b/c it helps me stay in gear for the next drift w/o me having to suddenly brake hard, the gear set-up on that car is very close for the 1st few gears. Also, i brake "alot b/c im trying to keep the car in check, with over 800 hp, u cant really just let it go. I have my brakes balanced more biased towards to the rear, so whenever im braking its usually to keep it in the drift / lose traction by 1st braking and then hitting the gas hard. I know i can definatly add more smooth-ness into the drifts and to improve since i jsut came back from a year of non-GT3 playing. I'll take the suggestions into consideration and see how I do with em, but really, thanks for all the comments and all, i really appreciate how you guys speak your mind about it and lemme know how I can improve on my drifting.
