I think in a year or so XBOX will be trash. Just like Sega saturn. I'm sorry I paid the 300 for it when it came out because I have played only 2 games worth playing...Gotham Racing and Halo...thats it...I've played no other games I would be proud to own.
 
I also think it'll fizzle out soon.

Sticking by Sony here on the Playstation. It's proved it can stay up there.
 
I think Xbox will survive as a matter of fact. I don't think Bill Gates gets in something just to lose. I think he will turn Xbox into the biggest gaming console like it did with Windows for Computers. It may take time, but the Xbox consoles with rule the console world.
 
A lot of ppl who chose Xbox over a ps2 say that the reason they bought a xbox is because of its "power"

But at the time, nobody gave a crap because there was no "Console wars"

The console wars were just as bad at that time, but there was no internet (less of one anyway) to fuel it. Mostly the console wars took place in commercials and magazines.
The Xbox has sold around 6 million, the GC is up to 8, and the PS2 has sold just under 40 million. This round of the console Wars is over as Sony's lead is insurmountable. The next generation of consoles will judge whether MS will lead or not.
It has already been released that MS will release Xbox Next (the actual name btw) before the PS3. IMO, creating such a short lifespan for a $200 - $300(US Dollars, insert your own price here.) console is going to put them in the same boat that Sega was in. Lack of Trust = 3rd place.
 
I dunno ... gamers are fickle individuals. Most of them just want the most powerful console on the market with the most options. I imagine the next XBox will have essentially the same options as the current one with maybe the addition of more home entertainment center options. Things like Windows Media Center on a game console would pretty much make for one heck of a product. If Sony and/or Nintendo can't keep up with that, they might just have a serious battle on their hands.

The things that make the XBox so great to me are the hard drive, four controller ports, and built in networking. Those three things make the game producers more interested in making "big titles" that use all those features. The video quality isn't really that big of a deal to me. I can get pretty pictures on my computer anyday ... but playing a video game with a bunch of friends in the same house is kinda rare.

The XBox makes video game parties so much easier. You don't have to tote around a bunch of computer hardware. Two XBoxes can entertain EIGHT people at one time - and up to SIXTEEN. That's pretty unique, and it doesn't take a whole lot of expensive and heavy computer crap to get there.

I thought it was going to be called the Xenon, at least that's what I heard.
 
lol...Well considering halo is still one of the top grossing games in the world, and Halo 2 is set to debut pretty damn soon, I think X box will be around untill X box 2 comes out. As far as Sony, I don't like Ps2 much, sure it's got some titles, but as a system itself it's just not 1/4 as reliable as an X box.
