Well after almost 2yrs I finally ordered my G27. My old ps3 bit the dust and having no way to transfer my saved games to the new one I figured I'd start fresh the right way!
I picked up 3-2"x4"x8's and 1-2"x2"x8' white wood pieces from OSH. Lumber totalled $10 and the other $10 was spent on the nifty torx head wood screws
It started with a donor seat from my civic parts heap and a simple frame.
Then I sat in the seat to get a feel of where I wanted the controls and threw together the frame. Came out like this
Found some partical board in the garage and made a simple panel for the sides
Took it outside smoothed it down and slapped on some valspar kettle black I had from another project.
After it dried(obviously) I mounted up the G27 and tucked all the wiring. Then drug it into my media room and plopped it infront of my 110" projection screen to handle some business lol!
Sorry for the crappy pic my theater is always dark. I'll pull the blinds to get a better shot soon.
I also dyed the seat a dark grey in the process. It's not 100% where I'd like it to be but once the warranty is up I'll mod it a bit to get the pedals where I'd prefer them. Here's a pic from the "driver seat"
This was before paint. Wanted to make sure it was good before finalizing it all.
Let me know what you guys think. I'm kinda proud of it considering I have never built anything like this. Honestly me first wooden project.
