This is my second go at a race report, this time using a Tommy Kaira ZZII. The race takes place on Midfield Raceway for Thirty laps. enjoy!

RACE LINEUP:

1. Saleen S7
2. Audi Le Mans quattro
3. Honda NSX-R Prototype LM road car
4. Mercedes SLR McLaren
5. Volkswagen W12 Nardo Concept
6. Tommy Kaira ZZII :sly:

1st Lap and 2nd Lap

The engines roar as the six supercars get ready to start one of the best races I have ever accomplished. just a mere 5 seconds into the race I slip by the VW Nardo followed by the Mercedes SLR. As my slightly underpowered ZZII aproached the corner, I rammed into the NSX and the Saleen at 76 mph, I instantly achieved 2nd place. Further into the first lap, I discovered a chance to swoop by the annoying Audi (ENGINE NOISE:grumpy:) but to my disdain, I skidded onto the grass and got put back to 6th place again. I tried as hard as I could to get the Tommy Kaira back on the road but yet again; I skidded. At the Start line for the second lap I was still a disappointing 11 seconds behind the the rest of the cars, but against all odds, I did one of my corner-rams into the VW at the last hairpin corner.

Laps 3-10

It wasn't long into the third lap when I edged into 3rd place, only the Audi and the Saleen in front of me, I tried a couple of times to overtake the Saleen but it kept wallowing in front of me, the driver was probably using his car's bulk as an advantage. Although the Saleen driver tried to put up a fight, i won in the end. It was now lap five and I still couldn't get into pole position, the Audi was too fast and the NSX was right behind me now, trying to overtake me while it could. In the end, it got past me and so did the the Saleen. I was now bumbling behind on the ninth lap in fourth place, if i wanted to achieve 1st by the Tenth lap, I would need a miracle. and indeed that miracle came, at the tight hairpin near the end of the course I done a corner-ram into the NSX then quickly nudged away the Saleen putting me back in 2nd place:). The tenth lap was equally as triumphant, I was overtaken by the Saleen, the Saleen crashed into the back of the Audi and the the two cars went hurling into the grass which meant i could progress into first place.

Laps 11-20

I managed to do two laps without a single worry, I was 5 seconds away from the SLR which now held second place, everything was great until I had a little crash and skid at the first curve of L13, Now i was only 00'00'890 away from the SLR but I still remained in first place until lap 15. In Lap 15 the Saleen had worked it's way backed to the front and the sped past me at something over 120mph! I was just about to overtake it when the Audi decided to have a little duel with me through a corner, I nearly crashed into the barrier at one point but I managed to stick to the tarmac. The the pathetic VW decided to take revenge on me and swoop past me, the same as what I done on Lap 1. I was in fifth place , I was on lap 18 and I seriously needed to get my act together :guilty:. I eventually got in front of the VW and the SLR but by that point I was on Lap 20, only 10 laps to go...

Laps 21-30

Now I only had the Saleen and the Audi in front of me, I Overtook the Saleen one or two times by lap 23, but then I made my big move and corner rammed it on 24. Now I only had the Audi to deal with and then I could possibly win the race, I tried to corner ram it twice my failed miserably both times; it was quite fast at corners. I still retained 2nd place each time though, that is very, VERY good for me. It was now lap 27, I had a boring drive through the last few laps but now the pressure was on. I smacked the Audi on the straight part of the course but that seemed to give it a boost! It was now lap 29, I was sweating in the small, confined cabin of the car, The Audi was right in front of me only half a secon in front of me, I floored the accelarator on the last lap, harder than I had ever done in the 4 years i had owned the car, I started a duel with the Audi, Tires were screeching, engines were howling, just then, the Saleen battered past me AND the Audi, The Saleen won and I came third behind the Audi, but I still won the trophy and a bottle of bubbly.

Hope you enjoyed it, sorry if I used dramatic language, it's the way I write

You have to do that to get past people?

Sorry, but if I accidentially ram someone, I let them go back past and do it properly next time around.

Amen to that! 👍

Much as I love writing and reading race reports, I'm personally put off reading further when I read about deliberate ramming to gain track position. 👎

@ Danster: Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you've decided to share your experiences with us, but there's a great many members here who're proud of racing cleanly, so don't be surprised if you receive a little negative feedback for being proud of driving dirty.

As for spelling, since you asked.... overall it's not bad. 👍
However, there's one thing that irks me. Using the phrase "I done". 👎
It makes you sound like a Premiership footballer doing an interview. :dunce:
The correct phrases are "I did" or "I have done"/"I've done" ;)

Ditto to that Smallhorses. RAM = FAIL. 👎

Rubbing is racing NOT ramming is racing. :dopey: If you're trying to pass someone and you two are doorhandle to doorhandle scraping paint around corners it's a bit different but simply driving your TK at warp speed and using the brakes of the Mercedes or the Saleen to stop then that's not good.

Atleast in special conditions if you ram, you're penalised so you HAVE to retry the pass.

Yeah...i'm with the other guys here. I mean, it's a good write-up and a good read and all, but what's with all the ramming?

In those last few laps, if you had out-braked the Saleen and gotten by him cleanly, you may have won the race instead of making just 3rd place.

...GT4 would be so great if there was damage (a consequence for ramming & generally bad driving) but since there isn't, it doesn't make any sense to exploit this...it'll just make you a better driver in the long run if you learn how to do things proper-like.

...hope we didn't scare you off, Danster.

I don't usually "ram" people through corners, I was struggling to get past the audi, saleen and the SLR anyway.

Yeah it kinda sounds like you got a bit frustrated. From what i've read, "ramming" the Ai has a tendency to not work so well in gT4...people who try it usually wind up in the sand themselves. But as a general practice, its' mostly frowned upon...in real-life you would get banned so fast from racing your career would be down the drain if you rammed anyone (excluding demolition derby-type races.)

You'd be better off just learning how to out-brake the Ai, and sneak by them in those areas in which they screw up. YOu'll notice the Ai ALWAYS screws up a little bit. Once you know where these areas are, you can take advantage and sneak by them. :) This is the best feeling; that rush you get from out-smarting Ai makes the game so much better. 👍

Amen to that too, i also do that.., it's because it leaves an "uncomfortable" feeling on you.., sure, you obtained track position but, it doesn't feel like you deserve that..,

yes, that hot-blooded feeling and adrenaline rush.., now that's motorsport, good stuff.., 👍
