Nice car, didn't see a burnout in that vid though, can I have my money back? :). No but really, that's a cool car.

The '74 video is up. It's facebook video though so you may not be able to see it putfile isn't working for me right now so I can't put that one up which is the same thing.

Ahh, I see it now. And yep, that's a burnout. I saw one of these at a dealership near me last year, massive thing, like a tank. Big presence. We don't get much in the way of US muscle over here, particualrly classic US muscle though I've seen my fair shar of classic Mustangs, Camaro's and Chargers at car shows. I'm not a big American car fan, but the classic muscle cars tick that elusive and often illogical "I like that car" box.

The car is 17ft long my favorite british car has the be the Jensen Interceptor.
This is how she sits right now, new front brake and Master Cylinder.

Gen III Charger, Eh? That's the one I associate with Petty.

However...got a "Hey, GTP" card? Juuuust for the skeptics.

You write your username and "Hey GTP" or something, put it on or in your car, thus proof you actually own it. It's more to ward off those who say they own something cool from those who actually do. On a site this big, there's quite a few less honest types about - not saying you are - but it does happen.

Oh, if I were to lie I would at least say I owned a '71 Hemi Charger. If anybody doesn't believe me, then too bad. I have both VIN numbers from the cars if you want them. The '73 starts as WP29M3A*****

Woohoo another Mopar!

Go challenge Diablo' to a race. Barracuda VS Charger. It'll be fun at the very least

Ah, nice Charger, pretty well preserved, and as someone said, 16 and already on your second Charger, on to make it your daily driver? holly snot I'm 26 and cant buy a Maverick.

ever tought about getting some dog dishes? they could look good painted black with the all-black-persona on your car. With WIDE rear tires.

I dont really remember if we got Chargers as far on as 74... I think we (Mexico) last saw them at 1972, because I surely cant remember ever seeing a 1973-74 model here... man, you'lll like the photo session of a local '72 I shot, go to the link in my signature (:

They both look pretty rust free for NJ. Where did you pick them up? Thanks for being a good sport about posting your name card on it. We get a lot of claims about cars people allegedly own - most recent being a "JDM Honda Integra R" of which the owner suspiciously refused to post interior shots, since it was 99.9% sure it was a US left-hand-drive car with some repro badging.

Friends or family in Croatia giving the '74 a good home?

And Cano, I prefer the grey-center Torq Thrusts on the black car, but then again I have a thing for grey-center Torq Thrusts.

Cano- I know I have seen that Charger before but forget where.
I bought the '74 on ebay from a guy in NY, it had been in NY all it's life.
I sold the '74 on ebay the guy seemed like he collects classic cars.
I bought the '73 from a guy in Michigan it is relatively rust free but could use a better paint job.
I have 255/60/r15 tires on the rear and a 2.45 geared rear and it will still easily light one tire up.
Yes, I have though of dog dishes I even had somebody photoshop them on for me.

Eh looks pretty boring with the steelies, like a cop car of the time. I agree with Duke in that the grey TTD's look awesome on it.

MEAN!!! I'd go with them, I like Torqs, but they're too overdone and dog dishes most of the time are overlooked, at least here in Mexico. it looks sinister. Have never tought about painting it all black, for that "bumperless" look? like a Super Bee? If I ever get one of these I'll go that route. B5 blue.

But then again I doubt I'll ever find a decent one here.

The car in my pics has been local forever

Hey, that's not a bad thing (although I always imagine them rolling off during pursuit). And get one of these for car shows.

Cool car, though. I can't imagine the road tax on a car that big in Croatia!

No I don't mean like a cool cop car (like the Blues Brothers' car for example), but like one of the boring undercover ones that you would always see in the tv shows from the 70's. :p

Dang 16 and you have already owned 2 muscle cars. Very nice. The car looks pretty clean too considering its a Michigan car. You seem to have a lot of knowledge for muscle cars. Are you doing all the work or someone else? Congrats on the new ride. 👍

There is no rot at all on this car, my blue 74 even had original paint on the frame rails and only rot on the roof and one floor pan because of an aftermarket sunroof that leaked.
Right now I am not restoring it, I am just getting it reliable. A couple weeks ago I replaced the valve guide seals, fixed a lot of crappy wiring, a sprayed the bottom with oil. While there may be no rot, almost every bolt requires penetrating oil to loosen. I have been into mopars since I was around 12 and read lots of books and went to Chryslers at Carlisle this year. I know almost nothing at all about GM or Ford products.

Nice car! Glad to see more American V8s surfacing on the forums :) . <3 the Torque Thrust Ds, btw. Thats what my dad has on his Chevelle.

The '73 starts as WP29M3A*****

w=Charger
p=premium
29=door sports hardtop
m=185 hp 2bbl 318
3=1973
a=Lynch road assembly plant , Michigan

Nice car dude 👍

certain '73's the "m" code could have been a 205 hp 400 c.i.

Well, since GT5 came out I'm back here so I'm bumping this thread.
Getting tuned up professionally, I really suck at tuning a carb but I try

Then it caught on fire due to my bad fuel line routing. I carry a fire extinguisher so I managed to put it out quickly. I had it fixed and back on the road in two days

Then the started motor died. To access it I had to unbolt the header, unbolt the engine and jack it up, and drop the center link for my steering.

Picked up a 440 from a guy I know in Brooklyn

The suspension rebuild. I installed thicker torsion bars which were a much higher spring rate, poly bushings, and got rid of some rubber isolation.
Here are some progress pics.
The new parts

P3251052.jpg

P3251051.jpg

I stripped the paint off and wire wheeled both UCAs. The bushings came out really easily and in one piece with a screwdriver and mallet. Then I put the new poly bushings and ball joints in the UCA.
P3261053.jpg

Here are some pictures of the UCAs. That gorilla snot they give you for the bushings gets everywhere.
P3301061.jpg

P3301060.jpg

I removed the lower control arms, torsion bars, and put in the alum. cross member bushings. The T-bars came out really easy since I wont be using them again I put some vice grips on there and they came out in a hit or two.

More
new bushings are in the LCA. I also welded on reinforcement plates, the welds look terrible but should hold fine.
