I finally got around to taking pictures of my finished setup. Sorry I don't have a price for you if you wish to build, most of my pieces were free.

The rig used to pivot and fold down at the base of the wheel support but it was to unstable so I took the hinge out and installed two 90 degree brackets and it is rock solid now.

The stand also comes apart in the middle for better storage options.

The shifter is perfect for me in placement of the wheel and the seat is out of a Ford Focus and reclines and slides. Post questions if needed and I will try my best to answer.

I decided to put some electrical tape around the ends so I would ding up my skin and walls while putting it away.

First design with a hinge at the bottom of the wheel support, it had to be taken off because it was not stable enough.

I also raised my pedals about 1.5 inches and decreased the angle on the pedal plate not shown in pic.

Thanks, it is a killer material. Next will be the Buttkicker on the back rail and thinking of hanging my pedals upside down.

OOC, for the people using 8020, what was your budget for hardware excluding the electronic bits? My dad is getting heavily into the game and I'm thinking of building him a rig.

The stuff is pretty pricey I wish I could tell you how much it would all cost.

I just ordered my buttkicker gamer 2 should have it by Friday. Can't wait.

I was thinking of building an 80/20 rig 'till I got a quote from a local Canadian supplier. It were to cost me more, almost double, than my current Obutto rig.

Yeah 80/20 stuff isn't cheap.
I finished with inverting my pedals and adding a Buttkicker Gamer 2 today.

Moved my buttkicker from the rear of my rig to the seat. Mr. Mullins from Guitammer told me that mounting it to the seat is better than the frame of the rig since vibration could get lost. He also advised me to get the rubber isolators to put under the rig to keep the feeling in the seat instead of the floor soaking it up.

I was looking around on ebay and noticed this listing from 80/20. This listing is just for the frame to mount everything to. I have talked to a gentleman from 80/20 about this rig and thought I would share this with you. So if anyone wants to build a 80/20 rig for under $300 is a pretty good price. All you need is the seat and wheel.

If you have more ideas just send them a e-mail.

Can you PM me the name or link to the rubber isolaters? Also what is the name of the side plate that holds your steering post to the rig?

Great job!

Thanks

Fantastic job on your rig trk. I thought about going 80/20 but went with welded steel. I too am interested in the rubber isolators. If you haven't seen my rig you can view it Here

The plate is called "5 hole 90 degree joining plate"

Some isolators are quite expensive however look on ebay you will find these are aplenty in various sizes. Many commericial and manufacturing machines use them to prevent vibrations.

Clark Synthesis TI-100 Round Natural Rubber Foot
Are a good size 2.5" and not that expensive $6.95 each.
Bigger than Buttkicker's though.

Clark Synthesis TI-300 Neoprene Isolation Furniture Mount
These are awesome (iloniuom has them) but $70 each.

TI-300 Neoprene Isolation are simply amazing and absorbing up to 100% of all vibrations so you won't disturb anyone. These also enhance the effect as nothing is lost to the floor.

These are $59.95 now, you can buy these here

You can also pick them up at hardware stores. The ones that I use are for manufacturing equipment.
