No matter the throttle input, at about 45-55 mph, the car will shift down and rev up but lose speed. Its old but the is being given to me so I would like to figure out whats wrong with it. The car is an 89' Honda accord with 196k miles on it.
Why at that particular speed, it happens no matter what gear the car is in, its an automatic, but you can still keep in 3, it still does the same thing.
Check the level of the automatic transmission fluid, and add some if it's low. ATXs get flaky if they are low, because the hydraulic pressure fluctuates.
