WRXs do seem to be discounted. With the short throw shifter, spoiler (considered an option) and the turbo gauge (measure in Mega Pascals), the sticker price was ~ $23,600 on mine, lower than MSRP.

Bug eyes.... Bleh. My generation 👍

BTW during your trip did you stop in Westport, CT. by any chance? I use to live there off the Post road near Hay Day next to the Honda dealer. . .

Nope - I took 95 from Norwalk so I was about a mile south.

Chrysler's advertising before the blitzkrieg was mediocre. Since then it has become utterly loathsome. It's clear that Daimler wants Chrysler to fail so they can simply absorb whatever is left of the company after they've bled it dry.

Chrysler has a couple cars that could be solid image sellers - the SRT and turbo GT Cruiser, the Sebring ragtop, the Pacifica - and what do they advertise? The Caravan. As if nearly undiscovered tribes in Borneo didn't already know that Chrysler invented the minivan.

I'm not even going to get in to the fact that you think Mercedes is a group of violent rapists, but you need to at least give Chrysler some credit for their adverts - all they want is to give the brand a more upmarket image, and the adverts are working perfectly.

I'm not sure you really understand why they need to advertise for the Caravan. A new Caravan isn't due for another two years, Ford is taking shots at Dodge in their Freestar adverts, and Honda and Nissan dominate auto magazine comparison tests. GM is coming out with a new (really bad) minivan in a few months, and Dodge is losing market share quickly in the only market that they can (and should) dominate. Further, this year Dodge has added flat-folding second- and third-row seating, an industry first. Previously, seats had to be taken out and hauled by hand from the vehicle. It was a reason people chose Honda over Dodge and now that Dodge has surpassed the Japanese competition, the adverts reflect that. Previous to this huge campaign, sales took a dive - since it, they've been up slightly.

As we've now got more than ten members with one (or who has someone close to them with one), I must say that not only is Dodge really bad at producing cars in limited numbers, but that this is the least-limited "limited production" car ever. I bet they're even discounting.

My friend got his for $200 over invoice. The salesman did say that if this was one year ago ('03 model), he could not have given him that deal.
