I'm not sure if it helps to ask here, but I have a 2010 iMac computer. The only issue is, there's a small spider in-between the glass and the actual monitor, and it's going to be fried to death and leave a streak of it's guts behind. Does Apple cover this sort of thing, because there's no possible way to clean the inside the screen as far as I know.

Get it replaced since you have to open it up from the glass in front if you were to do it yourself. I guess the Apple Q&A team never thought of checking for spider eggs!:scared:

EDIT: If you want to do it yourself, check this link.

Well seiing how the monitor is part computer it is possible. There is even spider webs in some old computer cases. I know that for a fact since some of the PC's I took apart were completely filled with spider webs and I only took the HDD out since there was so many inside!

Maybe I'm reading it wrong. But you know you can flick the glass forward on a iMac by prying the screen open from the top, it's held on by magnets.

Hey, Deadmau5 found a dead mouse in his computer earning his name... what else can there be in a computer?

RAM modules, hard drives, motherboards.
Lots of stuff as a matter of fact. :P

You should take it into the Apple Store just in case. They might be able to help you and it can't hurt to try!

Well i heard that smoking near your apple PC can void warranty.

They may say the same thing here if it what i heard is true.

I'm pretty sure warranty does't cover condensation behind the screen in high humidity areas. Smoking? I could technically see that it's possible to void your warranty if they can prove that smoking was what caused the issue, good luck proving that though.

And another one, though the second link can look a bit graphic compared to what I've seen.
I swear:

If I ever saw a spider anywhere near that large inside a computer case, I would never touch a desktop again.

Well I had my laptop opened by some fixit guy who replaced my broken DC jack and I didnt see any thing out of the ordinary... also I wonder what's in my Dads PC tower

You would be surprised how easy it is for spiders to get into things but I've never seen one inside a screen, maybe it crawled in through a USB port or something and made its way up there! Its like you have a living desktop pet

I recon it will eventually die or leave the screen but it won't explode guts or anything, it will just shrivel up and fall to the bottom probably.

That PC tower picture on the previous page made me shiver, imagine if you lived in a tropical country and found like a huge nest in there :nervous: Luckily in the UK spiders are laid back and I have a case window so anything in there is going to get spotted right away!

Robin.

I had a fly crawl into my LCD screen the other day. It's gone now, most likely dead after falling down to the bottom. Left some nice guts behind that I can't clean though :(
