I finally found the secret set up for the DFP to work wit this game so now its like I have a whole new game to play. The probelm is that sometimes the game will simply seize up while loading a new track. Anyone else have a game that does this and how can it be fixed if at all?

Let me guess you switch between the controller with the wheel during the game. I'd believe you won't get that problem if you try a few races with the controller only.

BTW, I did this once so I could play a GHII demo dvd with a controller on my PS2 but I ended up wiping my brother's GH save because of it(Or it was a GHII save).

No, I don't use the standard controlller when playing race games except for testing out particularly hard areas that might seem to be impossible in some racing games such as the Koenigg Racers in GRID. But thats just to see if the controller might give an edge over thewheel which I have yet to have it make a diff. The game simply seizes up and to make matters worse its random. Its not like just certain races are causing the freeze.

hmm, i hope it fixes itself...
i was thinking of picking DiRT up sometime soon (does it work with the G25?)

so you are NOT switching between controller and wheel during the game?
i was gonna say it might be your ps3, but if its just DiRT...
you probably checked this already, but might be the disc?..

Yeah I think its the disc. Sucks too because its a great game but its also the second title by codemasters that I am having troubles with. My TOCA 3 disc(a PS2 title) works fine with the exception that it will not let me adjust the saturation and deadzone of the wheel/gas/brake. Seriously, you adjust the stuff and when you try to go back to the game it pronpts you wit this warning: Controller is not set at default values, would you like to continue returning to default values. y/n? If you click N you just loop back to settings. In ordr to get back to playing you HAVE to reset to default values which quite literally suck if you are using a DFP. I wouldn't have known how great the driving experience could be if I hadn't recently bought TOCA 2 which allows me to adjust it all.

FWIW if you have a DFP and you get DIRT set the wheel to 0%deadzone and 20 % saturation and its magic. viola, instant fun in a barrel!:sly:

Well,
I hope your problems go away.

I downloaded the demo and tried it with my G25.
WOW, the hardest thing I've ever done.
Going from 900 degrees to 180 degrees (are those the right numbers?)...
I have to play on my controller for now.
What do deadzone and saturation do?
