I purchased the F2010 quite a while ago. When I tried to race it in the new seasonal event I found out it is 1 PP above the limit. Does anybody know how or why this happened? I never made any adjustments to it and I cannot find a way to lower the PP to make it leagal for the event. I cannot race the events now and do not have enough credits to get the F2007.

mess around with the power limiter?

In your tuning page, go to engine and there is a power limiter there. You will only need to drop it a few clicks for 1PP.

PP go up as the car breaks in (first 200 miles) and if downforce is increased. If you have driven the car a lot, the oil will be dirty and this cuts HP, but also lowers PP. So if you're close on PP, don't get an oil change just before a seasonal!

Either lower the power or increase the weight. Whatever you prefer. (Remember that both have different effects on the handling and acceleration of the car.)

What is up with everyone and their PP now a days? Fix your PP. If your PP is up, push it down. If your PP is down, take the cars over some bumps to get that PP up.

Not everyone is as educated as you are about how it works.

If my sig had room that would so go in it

I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time! Thanks!

Ok, I hate to say it but I`m clueless on this "Over some bumps" thing.
So, if your car needs PP, take it for a drive and when you come back you`ll have more than you need and actually have to remove some???

Yes, the BHP increases the more you drive till about 300 Miles, at this point your engine will have Max BHP it can possibly have and the term used to describe this is engine 'break-in'.

The BHP won't be a massive increase, it can vary from 10-30BHP on top of the original BHP.

Thus - increasing BHP means more power which means more PP. So you will have increased PP and you will probably have to use the engine limiter to reduce the BHP.

Edit: you can only add mileage in races - no free run online.

My F07 was 877pp when I tried to enter seasonal. It's normal. You can add weight, use power limiter or lower the downforce to achieve the required 871pp.
The slower way is to drive the car without changing oil till the hp drops. That way you get higher peak hp for the same pp.
The Ferrari formula seasonal is a nice challenge so go for it.

Does PP stand for Performance Parts or Performance Points?
If it`s parts, the system is not right, if it`s points, raising it because of adjustments makes sense, more downforce for instance, but why don`t tires come under the PP system?

It's performance points and the tires used to come under PP but PD removed it in 1.07

Tires never changed PP levels in GT5. That was GT4, no.?

In the official patch notes on gran-turismo.com, it implies that it was.

It did, in the beginning.
It was patched pretty quickly though.

GT4 never had performance points, you're thinking about GT5 Prologue.
In Prologue the tires were part of the PP equation.

O.k thanks, I don't recall the PP Being changed by tires at all in GT5. Must be my old age.:sly:

What I was thinking of was the 200 aspec point system. It was based off tires and PP (I thought)?.

It was in either GT3 or 4 or both.?

Seriously -- if your car is just one performance point too high -- that can be changed without effecting the engine. Reduce rear of front wing -- or reduce each of them equally to maintain balance. Aero has effect on Performance points same as weight and engine specs.

You can also break in your F10 in practice mode. Tire wear doesn't even need to be on.
