My first F1 race. need accommodation

I am going to my first F1 race in melbourne next week, YAY, so excited.
so I have my plane tickets, and ticket to the race on sunday, due to work comintments I can only go on sunday.

So i fly down from brisbane on saturday ariving at 4pm, melbourne time, and fly back tuesday very early.

does anyone know where I can stay relitivly cheep in melbourne?

I found a hostel on spencer street as a last resort.
