Hey guys,

First of all I would like to thank to all the people here who helped me out start and understand the game, the setting and so on.

I wanted to share with you if you're interested that I did my first race today with the Mazda MX5 in Laguna, started from pole position but thought the lights will be light in F1 and so had a bad start and a mistake in the first corner, dropped to place 10 out of 11 I believe and eventually ended 7th and got 0.06 SR and 32 championship points - this was truly fun!

I signed up to iRacing 5 days ago and so far I have an SR of 2.90 and it says I've completed my MPR!

So, I believe tomorrow I'll pass the 3.0 barrier and just like that in less than a week I will be eligible to be promoted soon to class D, correct?

Any thoughts guys? Is that a good progress? A regular one? What do you pros think? Would love to hear from you!

Thank you all and take care my friends, see you on the tracks :)

Thats great dude, im currently trying to get to d class myself, its taken me 10x the time it took you though :p Im at R2.84 right now so hopefully one more race will get me.

Good luck man!

I try to be safer than faster and that's how I get my SR higher more quickly, just avoid incidents and win races once you're on D license and above. Main goal is get out of the rookie and learn to drive at the same time :)

If you want tog get out of the rookies quickly just focus on driving safe. If you hit 4.00 SR you get promoted to D instantly, provided you've reaced the required amount of times.

I think it took me 3 days to reach D. Now my SR is going down somewhat as I can't drive at Laguna worth a damn. I'm really slow too, but practice makes perfect.

It's fun isn't it?

3 days? Damn man!

Yeah, it's amazing, I love the fact that every car on the road is an actual human being somewhere in the world trying to make a good race just like me :)

I will get to D by the end of this season since I have 2.90 now and need 3.0 I think, it says I've accomplished my MPR!

I've seen videos of other guys and they drive beautifully, I mean my best at Laguna Seka is 1:53 and they do 1:41, 1:44 so it's no contest at all, guess it's all about practice but I can't wait to enter my next race tomorrow, don't have time today :ouch:

See you at the tracks man!

If you focus on racing safely and not for positions in rookie, you'll hit 4.00 in no time and get decent results, since most race too hard for their skill and go off track often.

I just managed a 1:43,950 in practice at Laguna. This video helped me a bit.

good job! You are making excellent progress. Don't worry about final race position. Gaining SR and learning racecraft is more important.

You need to get to or past 4.0 to be promoted to D license immediately. reaching 3.0 will get you a promotion at scheduled dates on the iRacing calendar.

welcome to the darkside!
:)

Well I got to Class A in a matter of weeks. I then run some Grand Prix races. I found I had some pretty good pace and decided to work with my team mate as he is around 16th in line for a Pro license. Hopefully we will work on getting a Pro license sometime this year, or next year. I think he will be a contender next season for sure, but I just need to get my iRating up to around 3500 - 4500 to ensure I'll be in the top split races. Although I had a couple of bad races at the end of this season which really didn't help my iRating at all.

I found that being safe in the races definitely helped get up the license classes quicker, which is what I did, and then I just concentrated on increasing my iRating from there.

If there is anything else you need help with just give me a shout and I'll try my best to get back to you.

Good luck and see you on the track sometime.

My only real problem with getting out of rookie road is the miata. I HATE driving it. Especially since it always wants to spin on me. My best lap so far at laguna is a 1:48.xxx and thats about as fast as i feel comfortable going. Plus theres the fact that its so god awful boring to drive. I've done a bunch of testing in the skippy and the mustang and those are way more fun. Hoefully ill only have one more race to do then ill just focus on oval till rookie promotion day.

Thank you guys for all of your help, you are truly amazing :)

I am pretty excited to be promoted to class D since I was afraid to get stuck in Rookie for a while,

Wait, is there a Pro license after A?

This Pro is the highest?

I'll update you if you wish to know about my races and times, at the meantime I have a lot to improve as I am careful and that makes me being slow to the times I wrote you before.

Thank you for the video, will check it now.

We'll be in touch guys, how will I know if I race against you? Me, I have the same name in the iRacing as in the forum, you too? :)

Really? its that bad? ... I have every car in the service and I really miss racing the MX5.... some of the best racing I ever had was the first few months with that car, but its just too hard to go back and keep my SR up ... to much of a mix of bad drivers in that series ;/

Yes there is a Pro License after A, but getting there is a whole different ball game. You have to finish in the Top 10 Overall, not just in your division, in the Class A Series' (Nascar: Oval, Formula 1: Road)

No it isn't the highest, you then have Pro/WC License holders. These guys are the best of the best and have finished within the Top 25 of the Pro Grand Prix/Nascar Series.

Getting the Pro License is a feat in itself and requires alien like pace and a very high iRating (4000+).

Then I guess I'll focus on getting the A class :)

Thanks man!
