After my 3rd day at lvl 26 and endless searching, finally got the Formula GT to show up at the used car dealership. You all know the drill, so another 1mil credit gone for the engine overhaul and chassis fix. And after a few laps each with individual tracks to familarize myself and testing out the settings, I thought I was good to go....

So enter the championship I go, first up, Fuji Speedway... Pretty straight forward, took the early lead in the first lap and basically just kept on for the entire race and won. There were a few close calls and slipped to 2nd once, but took it right back at the final stretch by drafting. This really isn't much challenge, so I thought even with controller! (Yeah.. no wheel here..)

Next up, Indy road course. This track I have to admit is new to me, but I got fairly good idea during my individual track laps. Got the early jump by late braking and looks like I'll be coming out of the first turn in lead, only to found myself bumped out of the track by someone  Stuck to the wall and had to back up to get back on the track, but by the time I got out, I was already at last pos... Man, I was thinking should I just quit the championship and start over? But I really hate to do Fuji all over again so I thought let's stick with this since there're 4 more races to come. To my surprise, I slowly climbed back up to 6th and still gaining time on the leader, things was looking up when disaster strikes again... Ran wide on a turn and got stuck in the sand again, I really hate this stupid sand/grass combo especially with FGTs, very tough to get back out without spinning. So once again, I fall back to last at the 12th lap! Not really sure what's up with the AI, but I was able to climbed to 2nd by the 18th lap, and took 1st place at the end of 19th lap then went on to won the race. By now, I'm pretty pumped thinking it really isn't that hard if I can climb back even from last pos.

So comes Cote d'Azur, I really like this track and am pretty good at it I thought, took 6th place after the 1st turn, but again, got bumped right after and stuck at last. Figured it wasn't a big deal with the last race's experience, I kept focused and continue... But things are a little different this time around, I was lapping like a sec slower than the leader and although I'm catching up to the last guy, the rest of the field are pulling away from me!!! Maybe my settings were right for this track, the car just doesn't like to turn and the tires kept overheating even the smoothest I tried. By now, I'm a bit worried, will I finish last? Coz the 2nd guy is at 135 pts, he'll took over pts leader even if he finishes 2nd... I wasn't able to gain much ground afterwards, too many mistakes and lost a lots of time at the downhill hairpin, finally finished 10th for 5 pts... :guilty:

Next on the menu.. Nurburgring GP. Another new track to me but doesn't look too difficult I thought. Took early lead but was bumped out of track after a few corners again!!!! You can't imagine how mad I was, 3 races in a roll that I got bump, and spun uncontrollablely out of track!!! I paused and clam myself down before going at it again... After a few laps, I found there's a funny spot with this track, somone will always crash for no reason at the same place a few turns before the checker, because of this reason, I was slowly moving back up to 3rd :dopey: Was pretty happy and I guess I let myself relaxed too much, went wide again and spun out to last pos again at the 18th lap!!! Way too late for anything and finally came home at 10th again!!!!!!

So now, Monza.. Pretty much a must win if I want any chances of winning the championship. Was really hoping it to rain since the stupid AI always go slick and will only change tire after 1 turtle lap. But just my luck... Sunny and dry :scared: Crashed right into the wall at the first turn!! Pretty much thought it was over, but somehow, I think the AI cars have their gears set pretty close so lowering their top speed, with longer straight tracks, I was always able to gain on them on the straight. After 7 or 8 laps, I took 1st again and held on to won the race.

So now.. After 5 races, won 3 and 2 10th! Here's how the championship pts stand:

ME - 310 pts
Lim - 275 pts
Kauha - 265 pts
Rolland - 240 pts
Bertrand - 230 pts

These are the only guys that can affect the outcome, the rest can cause no harm even if they take pole on the last race... And by calculation and past record, Bertrand will always take 2nd and he's at pole on the grid, and Kauha will always be 3rd and he's 2nd on the grid.. Lim is usually the 5th or 6th and Rolland just got lucky with all the accidents. So I should be able to win if I finish 6th at the last race in theory, but 2nd is needed if there're accidents and the pos get scumbled... I heard Suzuka is pretty tough but if I'm only aiming for 6th, I still have a pretty good chance I guess...

Was sunny and shine at Suzuka again! My rain trick really won't help me now... This is the worst ever race for me in GT5... I guess I'm pretty tired from the previous races and was spinning, running onto the sand here and there, and the AIs are lapping insanely fast, by 7th lap, I was like 1:45 mins behind!!!!! I highly doubt there's anything I can do at this point, just when I was about to give up the championship, I spun out of track again, struggled quite a bit to get back on the track only to found myself facing the wrong way and the leader is heading straight right into my direction! We went head on and suddenly, an evil plan came to mind 💡 What if I'm to take out all my threats?? I meant bumping them out the track and making them last :dopey: Worth a shot at this stage I guess, so the evil begins... Bertrand was in the lead and was the first to go wahahahaha... Ramp him headon and pin him to the walls till the rest of the field passed!! And then Kauha and Lim, they stood no chance against my evil attacks!!! But Rolland... This guy took my like 5 attempts before I could get him, he was like had a super last min instinct to avoid me! Anyway, finally got him to the last pos and just before hitting the quit button, I checked again to make sure all 4 of these guys are at last, although Kauha went back up to 6th, but with 30 pts, I would still win so I went ahead and quite :dopey:

So, 3 golds and 2 10ths and 1 DNF later, I won the championship :dopey: Not that I'm proud of how I won it, but man.. No way in hell would I want to redo this championship again... I might go back and gold the rest 3 tracks, but no way am I going to do the championship again, it was fun but yet torture and not to mention with the stupid controller... And anyway, here's how my FGT looks after the rampage hahahaha!!

Hmm.. Here's the pic link, image upload didn't seem to work...

i did something rather similar on the dream championship. i was falling asleep and couldnt race on. so i got to the Nuremberg race, ya, it was raining and i was the longer verison i tried one lap, it was near impossible while falling asleep at the wheel so i crashed Mr. secondplace untill there was no way he could catch up. i won the championship and then i redid the race the following day in the dry, still took 26 min to complete.

That series is the hardest race series I've ever done. I got all golds my first time through it, but you really couldn't make any mistakes without having to either restart the whole series, or go back and do the individual races afterward.

That said, if no one has posted a reply, please just edit your original response, thanks.

Mine has been relatively easy. After 4 races I have 400 pts and the next one is 175 pts. I'm thinking now if I should just continue and finish the last 2 races or just quit since I got the championship in the bag.

I had some issues along the way managed to get Gold on the first 2 races but hit a wall on the third race and had to settle for Bronze on that one. I then got Gold on the next 2 and was up by 110 points starting the last race. By then it was 1AM so I exited out and took the Gold overall. Will go back later an run Susuka and try the Monaco event again.

Does anyone have tuning tips for Cote d'Azur? I had no problems winning the first 2 races but I finished dead last in this one. I could have driven better for sure but I didn't think I was THAT bad.

I could deffo use settings for all tracks - I can't remember the Formula GT cars in 4 being this hard to drive & neither can my bro. We've been experimenting with Fuji and I've would up with -4.5 degrees rear camber. Works (not brilliantly, there's still too much opposite lockery but at least I'm averaging 18s), but doesn't seem right somehow. What's worse is that my main Bob aced the lot with boggo settings.

Wait what?
The AI are stupid as usual in this one.
Stock FGT, spin and three laps later back to first.
Not to mention how dull the Nurburgring was (hate that F1 track).
I enjoyed that 20 laps at Suzuka though, trying to beat my best lap time each lap :D

This series was very fun for me

but the AI uses rubber banding, if you're terribly slow, the AI drives even slower than you, if you are quick, the AI makes unbelievable lap times to never be more than 4-5sec behind you, and I think I read that you randomly loose grip and spin out out of nowhere, happened to me a lot while hot lapping, but made it fun and challenging to take back the position lost, but scared as hell to spin out at the last laps into a gravel trap and get stuck

at Cote d'Azur, or however it's spelled, adjust your gear ratios for 200kph top speed, don't overdrive the car, take Sainte devote on 3rd gear, Massenet downshifting to 4th, go trough Casino on 3rd or 4th, Mirabeau on 3rd and downshifting into 2nd gear while you turn, at corner 6, take it on 2nd, if you take it on 1st gear the car doesn't turn quite sharply, between turn 7 and Portier take it on 2nd or 3rd gear, feather the throttle to not spin.
Take Tabac on 4th gear, take corner 13 and 14 on Piscine at 5th gear, brake to take corner 15 and 16 on 3rd gear, at the last corner before the straight, you must enter on 3rd gear to get good speed on the straight.

I also did the same thing. But it was the second place guy who spun me at the beginning at Suzuka, so with no hope of catching up I just waited right before the hairpin and blocked him for a minute of so, then quit.

My memories of the FGT in GT4 are horrendous.

Maybe it's because I have a wheel now but I won this championship first try. Yes it was hard and tiring but I liked it this time. Had to redo Cote d'Azur because I came about 10th but won the second time.

I'll have to give the FGT championship in GT4 another go now and see if it's easier. The only race I won on it, at the time, was the oval because I used a LeMans R8 and didn't have to pit as often.

Hehe, exactly how I did it 👍
Lost the lead in Fuji on the last lap (damm) => 2.
Indy was easy => 1.
Cote d'Azur a painful experience => last
Nürburgring, because of its strange chicane => 1.
Monza, after an early trip into the gravel => 1.
A dry Suzuka was too much for me and after several spins, I decided to kick the race leader out, who is currently runner up in the championship.

It felt good and wrong at the same time, but who cares ? :sly:
