Okay, I really can't be 100 percent sure of anything but I belive that the demonstrations are done by computers on the liscense tests. My friend on the other hand thinks its done by humans. Now I know that it is possible to get that time from a human but I still think the replay is done by a computer ai. If you carefully watc the replays, at the end when the car finishes the lap, they always just go straight and hit the wall. I know computers dont do that as they continue to drive the track. But Even the act of just going straight to hit the wall seems like its a computer to me. WHO IS RIGHT!!

Great question. I have also wondered this. I hope somebody can give an answer.

By the way.... Welcome to GTPlanet.net!

i would probably say they are done by computer b/c the times for gold, silver, and bronze are usually with decimals such as .870 or .400 or .220 ....i don't think you see decimals like .594 or .137 or .634 which would be more characteristic of a human's time, but i could be wrong

That is a good pickup Schumy. I was thinking humans, until you mentioned that.

But now that I think about it more, and please correct me if I am wrong. Doesn't the demo usually beat the gold time by a few hundredths or thousandths? I seem to remember it doing that. So maybe it is a human driver just beating an even thousandths time?

I'd have to say IMHO that the demonstrations are done by computer.Whenever i've watched the computer controlled cars they always seem to brake in the same way,a fast entry into the corner then brake again after they've turned in.Might just be me imagining things though

well i can easily get golds but i can never drive like the demos ....their line seems too smooth .......it could be because i use a controller and don't use analog or a steering wheel ......this makes my steering a bit more abrupt

While I'm not positive, I believe that they are done by humans. The Time Trials are all done by the creators of the game, and the top time is whichever person that holds the number one slot's own personal replay. That's why I would guess that the rest are people's times as well. :)

Those are the times that YOU need to beat to get the medal, not what the demo runs...

I vote human, because if the game could drive that well, it would be a lot more challenging. Teaching a computer to drive is REALLY hard, teaching a computer to drive REALLY well is next to impossible.

I totally agree with Brian. Sounds right to me. :)
