my game locks up during the race load screen HELP!!!

I dont know why but every time i go to a race it will lock up on the race load screen (with the white flashing square).
Why in the crap is it doing this?
The disc im useing is not scrached and i tryed to reinsert the disc when it locks up but that dont work.
It started when i made a hybrid but it wasent my first hybrid that it started this on and it still locks up even without the memory card.
I dont know whats up but if i dont get it working im going to cram my head into a blender!
O and this is the second disc iv had to deal with this on!
Man i am so board without gt3:banghead: :(
 
Maybe your PS2 has started to crap out. Are other games fully functional?
 
Ya they seem to be.
Only 2 other games have locked up but I can play them for a longer time than gt3.
I got alot of other games that work fine but gt3,ihra drag racing 2 and dirt to daytona.
But its gt3 that is the big problem.
 
opps am i really in the wrong one?
if so sorry but this is really buging me!

Happened to me a week ago. Time to get a new laser, or a new GT3.
 
Sounds more like the PS2 than the game if its happening with other games too. How much do PS2's run nowadays?
 
well thanks for the help guys.
i just played gts a bit ago and i can atleast do run and seting tracks.
and with the other games i can race for a while and sometimes it will lock up and sometimes it wont .

Like others said, you should probably send it in to Sony if it's still under warranty for a fixing.
 
If you're using Codebreaker then do the following: unselect some of the cheats becuase using as many as upto 20+ can cause the game to freeze.

If not then I'd suggest washing ur GT3 CD with WARM WATER and try again :rolleyes:
 
mine was locking up on the load screen with the little white square in the top corner, just kept flashing and flashing for hours!....

i just took the disc out... breathed hot carbon dioxide onto it and wiped it off several times with my shirt... put it back in.. no more freezing.. yay!!

Apparently toothpaste and even urine can help your CD be in tip top shape. :odd:
 
mine freezes at the begining right before the movie:banghead:

have you tried rubbing it to keep it warm? ;)


to the d00d who created the thread, you may just need to clean the laser. there are cleaners you can buy from electronic stores (tandy, etc)
 
well thanks for the help guys. i thing im going to have to get another ps2 some time but i dont have the cash yet but atleast i can still play 98% of the game i got with out problems:)

Well the rumor is going around that Sony will be dropping the price of the PS2 down to $99 soon. So hopefully it will be easier for you to replace soon enough.
