Very sad news, my gpu died today :grumpy: It was a nvidia 9800gtx, 4 years old on an Asus pq5 pro with a core 2 quad. I could place a new graphic card but I think I want a new system :o The whole system is over 4 years old now.

I'm thinking of an i7, with a mobo with atleast pcie 3.0 x16, graphics card atleast 1gb, 8gb ddr3 (or more?) and ssd.. Think I'm going to the stores tomorrow..

It's going to be used for iRacing and shooter games.

Any advice? :scared:

Too late! :D

I run microsoft games on my mac, never lets me down.

I have never experienced Mac gaming. At least not this generation. Many years back, we used to have a black and white Macintosh, a game called Apache Strike on it! Then got to play Wolfenstein and Vette on the Mac II. Another one I remember back from those days was Harrier Attack or something like that (when the Power PC chip came out). But that's it.

How much as it evolved since then in terms of gaming. You never get to see a Mac section on major gaming websites. Are modern day Macs good for gaming? Do they better PCs or as good?
