My GT3... version?

I have the North American version of GT3, and I have no idea how to change gear settings and what not after I buy the equipment... Maybe I'm just dumb and missing something but I thought I looked everywhere already. If someone could tell me how... that'd probably help me a lot ;D thanks
 
Right before a race with your car, go to settings on the menu that has things like: Race, Qualify, etc.

thanks a lot that did help a lot... and expand the game so much more... @_@ lol i always thought that was the settings for other stuff like the vibration, and other thigns that were in the options menu...
