My GT4 Cockpit

Hey all, new here.

why not introduce myself with a few pic of my rig.

It's comfy, the seat is from a mazda 323 (passenger side) and it still has the tracks so it can adjust to any size just like a real car.

It has a 2.1 set of speakers on each side of the head and the subwoofer is hidden in the transmission area (yes, i made the transmision/dash extension on the right side of the pedals to imitate a real car)

The sticker job was done for fun, nope, it doesn't race faster, but sure looks cool. I will add a few sponsor stickers as soon as i get more.

The pedal unit is hidden under the carpet for great look and again, car like appearence. (The Diamond plate is something i found lying around, it serve it's purpose well since the carpet under was thorn from racing abuse)

The thing is on wheels, so i can move it around.

Thats about as much as i can tell about the thing.

Any questions?

Very nice set up there Radikal...I like how you intergrated the pedals to the floor of the cockpit...reminds me of what another GTP member (MartinMaxx) did here...(Far right pic)....Very cool!

EDIT....Just noticed the 'cup holder'...or should I say 'beer holder!'.. :)

Very cool again!

Oh right, i forgot to mention that... Yes, very important for endurence races... the beer! Gotta have the beer. One thing i should mention... I drink and race, but i don't drink and drive. Drinking and playing a game is cool, Drinking and driving is not!

Ya, did yu build it all? and how did you do the numbers in the circle?

Yep, built it myself, took about 3 half days to make. Fairly easy to do.

The numbers... they're made of 3M vinyle, just print out what you want, put it on top of the 3M sheet, cut out the numbers, cut the circles. The tricky part is to get the numbers on the white circles. I used water and a little soap, just spray the circles, remove the backing on the numbers, drop the numbers on the circles, they won't stick becuz of the water, then you move them around untill you have the right position and let dry. Once dried, they won't move anymore.. You could use a squidgee like device to remove the water from under the stickers but i prefered to wait as the numbers would move or warp when i tried that.

I still have some remaining vinyle, i could write other stuff, but i'm running out of ideas.. anyone wanna help with that?

I like the Quebec license plate in the back!

Very Nice! Definitely like the Plasma TV! What model is that?

Quick Question: If those Frex pedals are hanging upside down (inverted), may I ask how you were able to switch the pedals around, since I was told by Frex that the pedal axis couldnt' be switched?

Thx-

Providing i had the same budget, i would've made something quite different then what i made.

Mine cost under $100.00. The TV i had, the seat i got for free, the wheel is not included in the cost and the speaker system i had too.

i'd love to know the cost of your rig! Looks nice tho, the seat is to high in my opinion, but thats just my taste.

At first - sorry i´m a english beginner, but i try my best.

Thanks, the Plasma is a Panasonic TH-37PH30 i buy it used (3Weeks) from a friend, he has bought the same as 42 inch, he want only a bigger one.

It works fine, i´ve only turn the pedals around and change cable for the potentiometers. I did the same with the original Logitech pedals from my DFP Wheel and it works too. Sorry but i can´t give no better instructions - you know my english is limited.
Yesterday i visit the german Games Convention (Exhibition), and played GT Legends in a Force Dynamics 301 Simulator ( http://www.force-dynamics.com/ ) it´s a amazing machine, the best sim. i´ve ever seen 👍 . It´s too much expensive for me.

@ GT_FAN2005 - Thanks too, but realy amazing is this (Download the first video) http://www.force-dynamics.com/video.shtml

I wrote it in the first reply, sorry for the english, please excuse me.
The seat was free, the casematerials too because my dad is a joiner.
My first TV was a old Amiga 15 inch monitor from a (Electric) scrap yard.
I´ve build the seat in 3 years, part for part. The seatposition is the same like in a (normal) real car, only the height from the ground is like a chair (height difference between seatground and pedalheight is lower than 10 inch).I use the chair on my PC too. http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/6776/pict18877pd.jpg

Well, i don't have a dad to give me free stuff! :) lucky you...

3 years... boy... you are patient. Mine took 3 days to get in working condition... then the rest is just added here and there.

Like i said about the seat height, it's just my taste... yours is like sitting in a SUV, mine is more the position you would be like in a formula.

I made a second rig for my wife... its the "bring your own chair" type, its just something to hold the wheel and seat the pedals solid.. i played with it a few times (yes, my wife prefers my seat!) and i just don't like it, it's too high, you have to move the leg up and down to change pedals... its not quick enough.. (but still i finish before my wife! hehehehe.)
