I had to do a hard reset on my PS3 recently and just spent 5 hours doing the updates, and I just did the Senna events, no problem, yet when I try and do the first sunday cup race at HSR, the menu music stops, when I quit it goes to black screen, and when I reset PS3 it asks me to send a ''Report'' to Sony? What the hell is up with this. Before I had issues with it loading on the XMB but now I cant even progress through the career? Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Fat or slim PS3?

If Slim, try putting it into more cooler space, clean the PS3 from dust, or if still doesn't work just do the service.

If fat, its time to change your PS3 to a newer ones. Seriously, me and most GTP members have experienced this.

Either way, back up your save data and pop your disc out for safety.

Well, like I say I just reset it, and it is a fat one

Only HSR is affected as far as I know but I cant progress without doing that race as to unlock the next race I need 4 stars but I can only get 3. I just went from a slim to fat so I could play older PS2 games, and that my old one wasnt running any game great.

Back-up your GT6 save file.

Check your GT6 game disc for smudges or scratches. If possible borrow another GT6 disc to see if you have the same problem. This might help, especially if this is the only disc you have that gives you issues being recognized at the XMB.

Start you PS3 in safe mode and fix file system and data files. (Getting into safe mode is the same for older and slim line models to my knowledge.)

If all that fails, delete and re-install all of the updates and game data again. Then try again.

Your last resort would be to test your current hdd and/or get a new hdd/ssd if your current hdd is defective and go through that installation process.

It is only HSR as I have tested each track and only High Speed Ring freezes, even Nurburgring 24H in the rain at night is fine on my PS3 but High Speed Ring will not work.

Game data, ok I will redo my hdd data

Do that if it still does it check the back of the disc make sure it isnt ringed(one single ring around disc usually a half inch or so from center). Or check for scratches also, are you downloading the updates wireless or wired?

Wirelessly did the update.

Yea i would delete the game data and try again see what that does, youll have to reinstall the updates but it may work
Goddamnit. Took 5 hours to do those updates on my current internet.
