Ok, so this morning at school a bunch of friends complained to me about an email I apparently sent them. I replied by saying that I never send emails, I only view them and use MSN. So when I logged into hotmail I was surprised to see 8 new emails in my inbox. I clicked on inbox only to see about 7 postmaster messages saying:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

*************@hotmail.com

I now check my sent messages and at 12:32 - 12:36am in the morning messages have been sent to 9 contacts but only one of them listed is one of the ones that complained. The other friends emails arent on the sent messages list. All of the messages are titles 'Hey,'

I did not send these messages but this is what they said.
Hey,
i would like to introduce a good company who trades mainly in electornic products. Now the company is under sales promotion, all the products are sold nearly at its cost. They provide the best service to customers, they provide you with original products of good quality, and what is more, the price is a surprising happiness to you! It is realy a good chance for shopping.just grasp the opportunity,Now or never!
The web address: www.oksele.com
Hope you can enjoy yourself in shopping from that company !

Now a simple google of that exact message shows that other people are getting the same stuff, not many people though. I changed my password straight away but I want your thoughts on this. What the hell made this possible. I just hope changing the pass stops this happening again.

There was a huge Hotmail security breach recently, it could be a part of this.

Personally though, you'd have to be quite thick to fall for those things (nice to see they've kept the spelling errors though). Just change your password and see what happens - these things go around more often than you think.
