Hello fellow GTplaneteers.

I love racing online, but hate the normal lobby races. So...

I've been thinking of ways to easily organize and manage races within GTplanet, without having to create new threads. I searched the different threads and I think my idea is fairly unique (unigue enough to warrant a new thread at least)

Picture this:

A thread is created and stickied in the Online races subforum aptly named GTplanet race organizer or something similar and within this thread there is an OP that defines the cars in the various classes such as GT500, DTM, NASCAR and so forth. General rules and regulations and PP is defined here as well.

If someone wants to organize a race they name their lobby "GTPlanet Race #01 (02, 03, 04 if other races are active with that number) and then create a post in the Race organizer thread named the same.

Example:

GTPlanet.net Race #01

Class: NASCAR
PP: 667
Tires: Your preference
Courses: Daytona, Indy, Laguna Seca.
Laps: 30
Damage: Light
Tirewear and fuel: Yes
Rules: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111241
Voice: Enabled/Disabled
Fixed owner: Yes/no (this one is important)

In order for this to work the creator must remember to delete the race post and clean up after himself or the thread will quickly fill up with old races. Users must refrain from posting in this thread unless it's a race.
The timestamp on the post gives you an idea of how long the race has been going on and if someone forgot to delete their post.

This is my rough draft of "Race organizer" And if you guys like the idea i'm sure we can make a well organized and well defined OP with everything needed

Sounds pretty interesting. i assume within the orginal post there would be a date/start time etc and it would be first come first served.

I reckon it could work, maybe even something that the guys who run the website could get involved with to make it run more smoothly.

Well yes. Basically the idea is that as long as the post is there, the race is active, but i guess you could time stamp. The time on the site is -5 hours UTC if im correct, so the stamp should probably be GTP local time.

Don't forget to identify time zones; but you have a good idea 👍.

Captain Roh does a great job organizing the 'Concours Club' 👍

I have GTP in my lobby title hoping to have some 'Planeteers' arrive; race in the Concours Club; and have my PSN frinds list; but many are in a different time zone (8 hrs diff Western Canada and Europe for example.

And some North Americans seem too lazy at times (me included) to figure out G.M.T.

Also, more news will come about the GTP Monthly race series-see threads 👍

Well i like the idea, it sometimes isnt easy finding a serious online race although it is getting easier with the recent filter(race for fun, race for real etc) but it would be pretty good to log in here look at your thread, see a list of races that are starting soon, use the filters to find said room and race.

If you were to get enough people to use it and basically advertise races they were planning on hosting it could become a very useful tool

It's meant to be casual, so no leaderboards etc. If a few more support the idea I will make a more detailed draft.

There is a lot of cars that has potential for racing but never gets used. The standard GT500 of yesteryear for instance.

The list of eligable GT500 cars would look like this (PP levels the playing field):

NSX ARTA JGTC '00 Standard
NSX ARTA Super GT '06 Premium
NSX Castrol Mugen JGTC '00 Standard
NSX Epson Super GT '08 Premium
NSX Loctite Mugen JGTC '01 Standard
NSX Mobil 1 JGTC '01 Standard
NSX Raybrig JGTC '00 Standard
NSX Raybrig Super GT '06 Premium
NSX Takata Dome JGTC '03 Standard
NSX Takata Dome Super GT '06 Premium
SC430 Bandai Direzza Super GT '06 Premium
SC430 Denso Dunlop SARD Super GT '08 Premium
SC430 Eneos Super GT '08 Premium
SC430 Petronas Tom's Super GT '08 Premium
GT-R Calsonic Impul Super GT '08 Premium
GT-R Calsonic Race Car '93 Standard
GT-R Calsonic JGTC '00 Standard
GT-R Loctite Zexel JGTC '00 Standard
GT-R Motul Autech Super GT '08 Premium
GT-R Pennzoil Nismo JGTC '99 Standard
GT-R Pennzoil Zexel JGTC '01 Standard
GT-R WoodOne Advan Clarion SuperGT '08 Premium
GT-R Xanavi Hiroto JGTC '01 Standard
GT-R Xanavi Nismo JGTC '03 Standard
GT-R Xanavi Nismo Super GT '08 Premium
GT-R Yellow Hat YMS Tomica Super GT '08 Premium
Z Xanavi Nismo (Super GT) '06 Premium
Supra au Cerumo JGTC '01 Standard
Supra Castrol Tom's JGTC '97 Premium
Supra Castrol Tom's JGTC '00 Standard
Supra Castrol Tom's JGTC '01 Standard
Supra Denso Sard JGTC '00 Standard
Supra WoodOne Tom's JGTC '03 Standard
Supra Yellow Hat YMS Super GT '05 Premium

Similar lists would be made for DTM, NASCAR, and then stock car lists with either HP/weight or PP.

I really hope this catches on:)
