The day after I buy my GF4 and place my order on my Athlon 1800+ XP, my month old 60gig HD decides (well i think it was a virus, but thats only speculation) to die. THE DAY AFTER I SPEND $530 ON NOW BASICLY USELESS CRAP! Atleast all my Music and any other files that were on the FTP are saved, they are on my 30gig (witch happens to not have enuff space to install windows  So I'm coming to you live from my...8 gig...

Oh well, I guess I'm gonna buy another drive and see if Maxtor will cover this one, so I'll have 2 working 60s.. I hope that works a bit better then my non-bootable 60 I have now

Maxtor? Thats your problem right there. I've always used Western Digital and I have never had any problems.

Western digital here too. Never any problems. *knocks on wood* :p

my 30 is a W-D and.. well i have a 12 gig Maxtor thats now 4 years old and the HD im using now is a Segate or however you spell it...
All of those have no problems, nor have had any problems wit em, its just my primary damn 60...

I feel for you MistaX....

A couple of weeks ago, I had a 80gb drive crap out on me. I only lost two Operating systems, and a years worth of Configuration tweeking, also with only about 70gb's of usless data.

I have since replaced it with another, and just got the warranty replacement for it.

I now have 254gbs of HD space.... I'll do pretty as long as all 5 of my harddrives don't decide to go all at once...

What? No RAID system for MistaX? You mean there's an element of MistaX's system that isn't the best in the world?

Wow, never would have thought it!

j/k :D

I'm a Western Digital Man myself. I've had 2 Maxtor's Die on me in the past, and so far all of my WD's are flawless.
MistaX, you should get a Raid (cards are available seperately), especially if you have 2 identical drives. I'm running one, and will never go back to Normal speed HD's. It's faster than SCSI (But not an SCSI Raid)
There's several configs, some are meant to backup data, but if you ask me, I prefer to have them running simultaneously for extra speed :D
