My Interceptor got hit yesterday. Could have lost my hand..Interesting story inside.

I'm so pissed off right now. I almost lost my hand today when someone hit my car and ripped off the side mirror and kept going. I was just sitting in a parking space on a road in my car and I was just cleaning the left side view mirror with my hand moments before this Saturn Aura comes flying by and clips the mirror where my hand was just seconds before. My 2 friend's in my car were with me and we noticed the car didn't attempt to slow down at all so I started my Police Interceptor and spun the tires going into the 2nd trying to catch the guy. I chased him down police chase style and we were behind him honking our horn. We did this for about 3 blocks while the driver continued to ignore us and we followed him into his driveway. It was an old man who didn't even look at us while we walked up to his window. He gets out and asks us what our problem was?! I was like: "WTF man you just came flying down this 50kmh speed limited road doing about 80kmh and you clipped my car and didn't even notice?!" He acted like he didn't even hit my car, his car's mirror was clearly damaged as well and he didn't even look at the car. He kept acting like he didn't even notice he hit my car. Yet my car shook with a large cracking sound along with the sound of shattering glass. There was no way in hell he did not notice that. He gave me his info and everything and when I mentioned insurance he straight up told me he did not have insurance and insisted he'd rather pay cash to fix my car. The whole time this old man was acting sketchy and his attitude towards the whole situation pissed me off. So I filed a police report and now the police have his info and I informed them that he straight up told me that he had no insurance. I can't believe he didn't hit anything else, another half an inch and he would have torn up the whole left side of my car. I'm just so pissed right now. The only good thing to come out of this was the whole police station pretty much coming out to the parking lot to check my car out and tell me they love my car haha. They were even making blues brothers jokes. They were jealous that I had better push bars then they did! They gave my car thumbs ups and shook my hand. Definitely cool cops, not the reaction I was expecting at all.

Wow, sounds, like you had a pretty eventful day. It's good he only clipped the mirror, that is fixable but if he had of been further over it would have been a much nastier story.
Hey, don't even worry about the old man, maybe the Police will review his suitability to drive. Hope your Car repair goes well and looks good as new.

My brother had a similar experience with an old guy in a minivan. He scratched the side of his car, except my brother wasn't around. But the guy didn't park far away.

lol great cops i've never had a problem with exceptionally stupid drivers.

You've more patience than me - I assumed because you were using the horn, you didn't have sirens.

I'd have turned them on straight away. I probably would have regret it later on, but still...

I was really contemplating on turning on the sirens or at least using my air horn to get his attention, but I know I'd be the one with the charges if the police found out I was using sirens to try and pull someone over.
 
If you had one of those mics and loudspeakers (like some cop cars have) you could have one of your friends imitate a siren! :lol:

I know how you feel ND4SPD. I aslo got pissed off when someone hit my rx7. Once I was at a complete stop and some idiot hit me at about 15-20mph. That "idiot" was making up excuses. I had to fix the rx7's bumper when it was 20 degrees outside.

(Gah P.A. system, that's what it's called! :lol:) I wasn't sure if you had one or not since you never mentioned it, but it's now obvious you do. :p
 
He probably hasn't had the chance to test it out yet. ;)

Quite comfortable actually. Two can lie down on the seats since the car is so wide. I wouldn't know though.....

The old man probably wouldn't hear you, well at least he'd make out as if he couldn't.:crazy: In Australia when you get to a certain older age you have to prove that your still fit to drive, this a great thing as it can help prevent accident's on the road because of incompetence. How old do you think the bloke was? Anyway take easy mate,👍

A black police interceptor in a low speed pursuit chasing after a Saturn Aura blaring the P.A.:

“Stop you miserable old b*st*rd. you hit my car you moron! Stop and pull to the side of the blasted road. You deaf old fool stop moving that heap of junk and get to the side so I can tell you how much of an idiot you are! Are you deaf? I said get to the side of the road. Don’t speed up you old foagy! “

I actually do this for real when I see people driving along while talking on their mobile phones, it really p's me off and very illegal here. Whether I'm walking or driving, if I see it, I do the siren. Our sirens start off with a BAOOOOOOO then another one has the BRUUUUURT noise, both of which I imitate with great success. :cool:

Most recent one was on Thursday to a truck driver. I don't care if you're driving an 18 wheeler, pull over and talk on your mobile then take off again, it's only 30 seconds more to the journey!!!! I've even done it to a couple of cop cars with some evil looks returned my way. :O:lol:

The first time I did that they completely stopped, I thought they were going to chase me. :eek::lol:

But your absolutley right mate, there is no excuse for people to be talking on a mobile while driving. It's an obviously stupid thing to do especially in built-up area's where ones attention needs to be on Driving.:)

Thanks Rusty, I try to make the roads safer in my own quirky way. ;)

Now to figure out how to become NSW Roads Minister and reverse every single stupid law we have!! :p
 
It isn't illegal to impersonate police there?
 
I'm not imitating police, just stumbled upon being able to replicate their siren in cars when the police changed their sirens when I was a teenager. I was spooking other teenagers and friends in my car club with my 'siren' and then it worked on other people including the police. :)

If they never changed it, I wouldn't have been able to imitate it, the old style was so loud and high pitched!!
