First off, I posted this here so more people would see it.

As some of you know, I've been working on a Mazda 6 Combination CD-R.

This CD-R includes:
-MazdaState Mazda 6 Technical Highlights CD(only Master Techs get these)
-Mazda 6 public CD(only for Mazda 6 Insiders like me)
-My Mazda 6 videos(3 so far...)
-My Mazda 6 Screensavers(collected from around the net)

This is a full CD-R's worth, the 2 main parts(the Tech CD and 6 CD) are well over 75% of the CD-R.

I posted a poll in the MAZ forum a week or 2 ago about the price, and the majority voted for $5. I thought it over, and I'll offer it for the lower price of just $4.66 USD.

Due to a technical difficulty in the production of the CD-R, I have to reload the Tech Highlights CD onto the Combo CD(my Dell's CD writer decided to lock in the process of adding the videos and screensavers, rendering the original CD-R useless, and I have to get the Tech CD from my dad), but this should not drasticly affect the release time.

If you want to help the MAZ foundation, post here if you want to buy this. Once I get the CD-R in the final release, I'll notify you about payment and shipping.

How cool is that?! :D

Disclaimer-Mazda trademarks and copyrights are owned by Mazda North American Operations and the Mazda world wide company. The Mazda 6 public CD and Technical highlights CD are FREE, the cost comes from my labor, cost of the CD-R, and packing. You ARE NOT paying for the Mazda CDs, which are free in thier normal forms(but you can't get them easily, and no one on GTP can get the Tech Highlights CD at all). The Mazda 6 Combo CD-R merely connects both of these CDs and other media on one CD for practicality, enjoyment, and education. Is that clear?

The Future of MazKid's Combination CD-Rs:
I am currently thinking of making an RX-8 Combo CD-R, though the car itself is still months away from release, so I'll wait untill more stuff comes out about it(such as the Technical Highlights CD for it).

So, what do you think? Comments and questions are welcome.

Thanks guys!

Nice going, Maz. Keep up the good work. 👍

Do you have Mazda's permission to use their media?

Tsk...tsk...

Fair point, Jimmy.

Better this doesn't get out...

Did you read my disclaimer?

I mean, I couldn't care less, but this is illegal. I think. Unless you're only selling the CD-R and not what is on it.

If it's cool with Jordan

You still need to ask Mazda's permission to use it, you know...

Isn't it against the AUP to advertise some stuff for sale, anyway?

Yeah, I read it. I still think you need Mazda's permission to coyt their stuff onto a CD and sell it.

Maybe not, I don't know. Carry on.

I'm not selling thier stuff, thier stuff is free.

The cost fully comes from my labor, the CD-R, and packing/shipping.

I didn't pay anything for either of the Mazda CDs, and I'm not trying to scam anyone into paying for CDs that are free.

I just thought it would be usefull to have both of these exellent CDs on one CD, and with bonus stuff I've collected.

Then what about the bonus stuff. Did you make it all? Or is it all public domain? You need permission from the authors of the screensavers and videos to put them on a CD and sell it. If you have permission then cool.

Those things are free too. All content on this CD-R is free public domain. Again, the cost comes purely from my labor(collecting all of this stuff, putting it on a CD-R, and having to deal with skeptics ;), the cost of the CD-R it's on, the cost of the packaging, and the cost of shipping and handeling.

Nah - still illegal. It's illegal to take profit in a corporation's work. I, of course, rule and won't say anything, but I know Klos won't be quiet about it. Klos wants an Element.

Doug, I'm not taking profit from Mazda's and other people's work. I'm attempting to make profit from my labor.

If you guys have a real problem with this or something I guess no one will be able to get this or anything else I offer in the future.

I was just trying to provide something for the people of GTP. Guess it's all illegal...

M to the Azkid!

Heh, that'd be a good user title for you, but I'm sure Klos is going to use it the second he reads this.

I don't get it, honestly...

J to the ackass?

Lame ripoff.

K to the los sucks.

Problem is, you're putting Mazda's stuff on your CD. Stuff you got for free, and that you're selling at a price, but that originates from Mazda's PR division.

See what i mean?

I didn't steal free stuff Jim...

So wait...it's ok to sell CDs with copyrighted music on it for as much as a normal CD is, but then when I try to offer something to GTP with the cost a mere $4.66 coming from my labor and the CD-R itself, it's all illegal.

Why do I even bother?

I get this sinking feeling that people wouldn't be so upheld on the legallity if it was a Ferrari or Prosche CD...

But Fred, I'm not selling the content. I'm trying to say that. I know that the Mazda stuff and that the stuff people have made are free, and they shall remain free.

I'm just asking for the price of making this CD-R. If that price is too high, I'll change it.

But you're selling the CD-R, right?

With that content on it, right?

I'm just asking to recieve what I paid for the disc and my labor. That's all. That's all it ever was.

If I thought of selling the content, I'd be charging like $40.

God, you people. Let the kid sell his stuff. Its free, and like he said he is only charging for shipping/handling and for the cost of the cd. Hes not charging for the stuff. If you wanted the stuff (bu tnot on a cd), he could send it to you for free over the net. He's simply putting it on a cd to make it easier for people to access instead of having to wait hours for all the files to transfer over the net.

Stop being so damn picky, people.

Thanks Acid, and GC. I would have put all of this on an FTP if I had a fast connection. On my connection, it would take days for me to upload this stuff.

No prob. Besides, if it is illegal and mazda finds out, they will issue you an email/letter telling you to stop. Youre not really doing any harm, so i dont see why mazda would even care, anyway.

It's illegal but I don't care. You won't get into trouble if Mazda found out anyway. You're what, 14 or 15 MazKid? You can claim ignorance or something. You're a kid, if the worst were to happen they'd tell you to stop. Woo. Sell me one MazKid.

I'm 16, but yea. They might tell me to stop.

They probably wouldn't care enough to go through the trouble of telling me to stop, and I think that they would like what I've done for people. :)
So you want one Concept? You are lucky #1. I'll put something extra in the packing for you. :D

You're right...they probably wouldn't.:irked:

What's funny is...all the people who are *****ing about it being illegal, or it's stealing, blah blah blah...are the people with 10,000+ stolen songs on their computers, free copies of PS7, etc.
