My monitor is freaking out!

okay, My moniter was f'ed up earlier and the screen seemed like it was bowed or something, because everything got smaller the closer to the edge it was. I fixed it for
non- fullscreen programs, but when I play Diablo 2, the screen does it again. could someone help me?

This is a very old monitor. I think back into the 80's. I have tried turning it on and off again. and there is no degauss button. I don't think there are any magnets around.

thats what I thought. This damn moniter is an heirloom now. My grandparents had it, passed it to my parents, then It was passed to me. But I need to start looking for a new one.

I will have to make this last, I will be broke till after Christmas. IT SUCKS! But I have two weeks of work over Christmas break, so I will have enough money.

If your in highschool you could always talk to a computer lab teacher. Schools always have ****loads of old monitors laying around doing nothing. I know mine would hook me up with a monitor for a few bucks if I asked. Try it if your on a tight budget. If not, punch him, steal one and burn down the school 👍

My old school has a bunch of Acers with flatscreens. I'll steal one and shoot it your way. ;)

Seriously though, you can pick up second hand monitors for next to nicks. I suggest it!

Our school doesn't have any.

Indeed sounds like you have some serious old monitor issues. I suggest going with Viewsonic or Samsung. Both of them seem to last a pretty good amount of usage time. I would stray away from LCD monitors, they are not all they are cracked up to be, avoid them at all costs. A nice viewsonic 17" monitor would probably give you great picture clarity and a good refresh rate.

BTW, how is it that your local high school doesn't have any old computer parts, that's crazy.

They have addapted something new in my old school.(I graduated just in time :ouch: ) Each classroom has 1 laptop for every student to do their work on. In science it is especially needed. There are 4 big computer labs and a T3 connection. Kids have it so lucky.

I've already asked my CAD teacher about buying a monitor from the school, and he said they don't sell any old computer parts. in fact, when I went to the A + lab, there was an OLD powermac sitting there, So I Guess that's proof.
