Re: The Livery Editor - One thing that bothers me about livery editors in general is that when you view the user-generated content, I don't really feel like they're making the most of the tools they're given. It's mostly just replicas of varying sorts - such as other racing liveries, famous vehicles from various media, or something in a similar vein. Either that, or it's something that only technically neat, like replicating an engine on the hood. I'm not saying people are necessarily wrong to do that, but I can't shake this feeling that a livery editor with this much freedom is mostly pearls before swine, whether this applies to GT Sport or an NFS game. (I swear, if I see yet another Paul Walker R34...) But then again, "Be the change you want to see in the world," and all that - maybe it's just me. Personally, I'd love it for the livery editor to include more default decals that could encompass the entire car, much like the various decals in the NFS games like Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon.
I also would like to potentially see various "official" GT Sport profiles, such as for Gran Turismo itself. That page could allow you to use the various AI liveries in GT League, the various streetwear tie-in liveries, Lucas' new helmet, and so on.
Special HUDs & Features - As some of you may recall, the GT4 Toyota demo had special HUDs for both cars featured, being the 2nd-gen Toyota Prius and the MTRC concept. I cannot recall if these UIs were in the final build of GT4, but I do like the concept of HUDs/UIs that may differ from other cars if the car you're driving has special features that can be used on-the-fly. I also believe that these "special" HUDs should be part of the Multifunction Display, and could replace the last three menus (being fuel mapping, brake-balance, and TCS), while those options would either be only tunable in the menu between races, and/or could only be modified after purchasing a certain upgrade. (Unless, of course, the car can actually do that IRL.) I'm also reminded how in NFS Payback, when driving the new BMW M5, you can tune the drivetrain power map. This is before we get into how various cars can have KERS/DERS, etc. I also would have the transmission options reflect real-world options when buying a car, and this option would also be unable to be changed after buying. Perhaps they could even have a way to replicate using the clutch on some older MT cars, too! But I digress.
Re: The Track Editor - I do recall the GT6 version being wonderful, but if it does make a return, I think it ought to have a similar structure to the other user-generated content we see in GT Sport. I.e. there should be a "cool selections" tab, and whatnot. Speaking of which...
Community Page UI/UX & The Companion App - I think there's quite a bit that could be done with these, but I can understand these facets also being put on the back-burner given GT Sport in general having a lot on its plate (the FIA championships, for one). For one thing, I think it'd be good to have more specific options; upon selecting the "most popular" filter, you could further specify a given time-span, being "this week," "this month," or "all-time." I could write more, too, such as how I'd really like to see the app become more useful than the mobile site, but at this point, I can't see the advantages of the app just yet.
One Last Idea - What if another bit of user-generated content could be rulesets? For both races, and potential custom championship series? Especially if we can have a similar amount of nuance to custom rulesets as one could see in GT League, or in prior online GT games, and so on?
