My New Drift Video

cool video. Do you purposely use the grass to initiate your drifts? That's actually a technique, forgot the name of it.. But first time seeing someone do it. A good run though, keep practicing 👍
 
Yes i sometimes do, when I think the drift will be hard, i use the grass to initiate my drift. I also use the.. how can i say it.. if any of you guys watch Initial D, the so called "Gutter technique" but instead of using the gutter to grip it, i used it at the early stage with only my inside front tire in the "gutter" in order to drift, even though there's no gutters in Deep Forest Raceway, but it's similar enough. I don't know how to explain it, see if you can catch it. It's around 1:04 in the video. I bet you guys used this technique often. ^_^
 
It's called Dirt-Drop when you use the dirt or grass. What you're using with the curb is Jump Drift. But typically, you'd hop the rear tire over the inside curb closer to the apex instead of doing it on the outside curb and charging in. But whatever works for you I guess. I've seen people try it, it usually doesnt produce good results, and bent hubs. 👎

Ok had a look. Nice angles in some drifts, other times you just had to push it a bit further to get where you needed. All in all I'd say about 3.5 / 5.

Skills are coming along nicely.

I know what you're talking about, but I think you're wrong about this. Takumi doesn't use the gutter to help him drift. Just the opposite, he uses it so that he can get more traction and take the inside line to pass his opponents.
 
What FR_Racer meant was the "Jump drift". By hitting the front wheel onto the apex to start a drift.

I pretty much agree, some corners you struggled to find consistancy, but hay nice vid dude, keep it up, practice makes perfect, (i spose its not like i can talk , i havent even posted my first vid, but it will come when i get a capture card)
all in all 3/3 for me, nice effort
 
You need a lot of work on your exit man.... and I don't really like dirt-drop drifting since it just make the rear wheel to lose traction....

When i see your drifting technique is kinda weird because you always counter steer late but what amaze me is you can make the car turn smoothly nice job on that keep up the good work 👍
