Finally got around to building it. Sense the pictures were taken, the cords were attached to the frame, surround sound speakers were added, a cup holder was added, and its great!!! The seat was off a Nissan 200SX and I got it for $25! One of my buddies suggested covering it in black low pile carpet like a cars interior, so I think that will be next weeks project. All in all it cost me about $75 to build and took 2 hours The seat is fully adjustable, front back and recline.
Simply amazing. Alot of people like me would pay alot of money for that. I think you have something going there. Make a patent, become a lisenced dealer to get the GT wheels from the manufacturer really cheap, and you can sell those for probally $150 each. $300 w/ speakers and cup holder
i've got enough left over material to build a second one, just need $3 worth of 2x4's and 2 hours and I could make another one, just without the seat and wheel obviously
With mine im going to put a Corbeau seat and mount a 5 point harness to the side 2x4's and the rear 2x4. And put on my racing helmet. And than I will be all set
If you wanted something functional and cheap with thousands and thousands of options, go to your local junk yard. You will have more selections of seats than you could imagine.
Originally posted by Ev0 Very nice work! I'm getting very tempted to build one of those during the summer (if my parents wouldn't mind having that in the basement).
And what type of store would you get a cheap car seat like that?
Got my seat from an internet junk yard... I let them know which seat I wanted and they told me what they had and what the prices were. I just told the dude I wanted a sporty looking seat for cheap, and he told me he had a passanger seat from a nissan with a small cig burn for $25 shipped greyhound... So I took it.
You have still had it marvellous!! I have also an armchair of car of scrapping and I like do to me something of it. But first I have to buy me the steering wheel jeje
