It's only standard but i'm looking into tuning possibilities. Planning on getting some 16"-17" wheels, stainless exhaust, manifold and cold air induction to start with, Maybe a Turbo or Supercharger at a later date.

Almost forgot, i'm going to sort the radio aerial out. It makes it look like a RC car :)

Nice! How much was it? How many miles? I think I would've gotten a MX-5 though. :P

It was £2500 but managed to get it for £2000 (Not to many people buy soft tops this time of year :sly:). Its done 85000 miles but is immaculate inside and out.

I test drove a mk1 and mk2 Mx5 but prefered the Mr2.

Isn't it the MR-S? Or was that version still called an MR2 there?

I was thinking MR-S was the JDM name and MR2 Spyder at least in the US.

Has always been called the MR2 in the UK.

MR-S was Japan and Australia I want to say.

Make sure to gut the pre-cats if that hasn't already been done. And to deal with the aerial, just unscrew it - radio is terrible anyhow :dopey:

17 inch wheels feel a bit much on this. I was pretty content with how the 15 inch Rotas looked on mine, but 16 inch probably will fill the wheel wells a bit better.

Also the MR2 is mid-engined and more of a toy. An MX-5 is more suited to regular use seeing as it actually has a decent sized boot. 👍

I'm 6ft 1" and weigh just over 14 stone and fit in it fine.

Same. I'm 6 foot 4 inches and 185 pounds and could fit in mine just fine, top up. Though having a helmet on was a bit too much height with the top, so always had to drop it for autocross, regardless of weather.

6'5" and 190lbs. No hope for me...my legs are too long.

From what i have read on a few forums people have been putting 17's on the rear and 16's up front.

Also noticed a lot of people have been puting braces on theirs like the ones in this link http://www.corkyandcompany.net/

You might just maybe. I've got rather long legs and I didn't have to put the seat all the way back, and would even scoot it up another notch when racing just for slightly better foot work.

The chassis is fairly stiff to begin with, but bracing isn't going to hurt it. 16's and 17's will be fine and won't look awkward, provided you get a good off-set and run proper fitting tires. I personally stuck with 15 inch wheels, square all around, because I'm cheap and 205/50/15 is a wonderful tire size. The car isn't that twitchy that you really need wider tires in the rear, and certainly doesn't have the power to need anything beyond a 205 unless you are looking to do some serious auto-x or similar.

Honestly, I think lower the car a touch would do a lot more to fill the wheel wells than larger wheels, as it has a rather large fender gap from the factory.
