Coming soon.....Trial Mountain, Grand Valley Speedway, SSR5, Laguna Seca, and Super Speedway

If you'd like to see an in-car at any track just post and I'll have it up by the end of that week. Also, same deal with any track that isn't posted or upcoming.

You need work on your steering a bit, try to keep it a bit more fluid and then you got it.

A bit off topic...i really miss qualifying in gT4...why the hell did they get rid of that?

How about the reasons GT4 owns GT3? ;)

None of these are mine, but all GT4 videos from the GT4 Drifting Forum

Sorry, not convinced in the slightest bit. I link drifted at high angle every turn and straightaway in all my vids.

That was driving straight down the straights and doing a measily 4 wheel slide through the turns. Most of them aren't even linked together. And the ones with clips......anybody can do a turn here and turn there and paste them all together......THERE IS ZERO EDITING IN MY VIDS.

Not even close to the same callibure bud.....atleast not in my book.

Actually that's as good as I can get......it took me 2 days of nothing but solid lap attempts to get that Deep Forest run.....If you can do better than that, then that would be awesome and I'd love to see it. But thanks for the constructive criticizim, but I've hit a wall so to speak in my abilities on those runs. Best I can do. :) I'll post an in-car at Deep Forest soon enough to show you what I mean.

If you could somehow get them any better that'd be insane! cuz those are definitely perfect. Great job. Just curious, but did you use a wheel or the DS2 controller?

You can qualify in series/tournament races, just hit practice on the screen where it allows you to start the race, b-spec it or tune your car. You have to run one practice lap before qualifying, then after that you do a real timed lap, which gives you a race position.

rsmithdrift - I doubt they were edited, they are'nt measly either, they, were all (maybe not the bottom one as much as the rest) good drifting.

wow, hey thanks...this is good to know.

The power of a Lightly Hybrided car is way easier to control through a Drift, You can always have the car in the power band to kick the rear end out as you please!

Then that eliminates the challenge. The challenge and effort of getting a certain car sideways, hybrids are just for lazy people. Go ahead call me a nerd or geek for playing this game for a long time and learning the basics.

Oh come on, cut those drivers some slack...they're playing Gran Turismo 4, not 3. It's not their fault that the laws of physics are trying their damnest to keep the cars from drifting even one corner. ;)

Keep in mind the difference in the physics engine of GT3 to GT4 before deciding that drifting in GT3 is really so much better, or worse. So remember also, that it is harder to drift in GT4 than in GT3 because of this.

Oh, Those are some AWESOME drivers in some of those vids, don't get me wrong. I am ok at GT4 drifting......not quite FBI level but still, I work with the wierd physics the best I can. I don't really think that was in question though.

What was in question was which game had better drifting physics and I think we have a clear and still champion in GT3. I mean I'm talking first round knockout here. Not even close. I'm sorry but if you believe GT4 has realistic drifting physics, then you've never drifted in real life. That's all I'm saying.

I know, I was just messin' with ya. :)

Also, I'm sure you know me well enough to know that I agree with you on the second paragraph, especially the last part.

Drifting in GT4 sucks. But when you get it right, it's not too bad. GT3 is much more realistic. When you try to drift a low speed corner in GT4, the rear wont step out, or you just scrub off speed. I do drift in real life, and GT4 is disappointing when it comes to drifting. But for actual grip driving, and road racing, I have to go with GT4.

Its not more realistic in GT3, drifting is harder in GT4 which makes it more realistic, you cant just buy a Toyota Supra and drift it, thats how easy it is on GT3.

Hmm, well until they develop the perfect physics engine, they can't be compared. GT4's physics favours track grip racing, that's why all the races, excluding SC hall, are tarmac grip races. Physics is physics. It's impossible to have realism with isolated elements of physics, it works as a whole. So having elements here and there will always result in some positive and negative reactions.

GT3: Older game, revolutionary improvement from GT2, had some 'flaws' in its simulation engine & GT4: Adressed most of the flaws in GT3 at a price, new flaws that, unfortunately, physics cannot simulate. It just so happens that drifting is impacted here. Drifting is always going to 'suck' (I don't mind it, but...:indiff:) until they create that perfect physics engine.

An unrelated example: going 590 km h-1 with a setup that, with wings, would take off and glide across the pacific is controlled with no trouble whatsoever.

Every action action ('improvement') has an equal and opposite reaction, that just about sums up PD's efforts:crazy: & :). At least I can go fast!
