hope you like them!

To bad X-PLane flight sim looks alot more bland compared to FS2004.

Yeah, but it's relatively easy to model planes and the physics are great. I should put a crowbar in my wallet and buy X-plane and a decent USB joystick someday.

Also, I'm Mac-based, so I'm pretty much outtalucko on MSFS.

For years I have wanted to get Flight simulator. But I have always been put off by the number of versions and add on packs. It seems like the basic game isn't enough and i'll end up spending 100's of pounds to get what I want.

I've never really been interested in Flight Simulators. I tried a recent one once and I never really cought on. I really wanted to like it, but I'm just not that type of person to like them.

Dunc:

Get the latest version of the basic FS thing and play with it (assuming your computer is decent). You can set it up to play with mouse and keyboard. Noodle around that way and see if you like it; then later you can add stuff as you wish.

There are literally hundreds of free self-published amateur plane models to download.

Im sure youll be happy with FS2004, if your after a specific plane or theme you may get a add on.

I love Playing flight sims all in real time, my friends thought I was crazy, intill one of them tried it and learnt how to fly and naviagate and he was hooked also. If your genuinely into flight sims then it is worth buying a good force feedback flight stick, mney well spent.

That is another problem.

I want to get some sort of game controller soon, but I don't know whether to get a Joypad, Joystick or wheel. I leaning towards wheel if I can find a good one that will work both on the PC and PS2 for a decent price.

Get the (old) logitech driving force it will work on both a pc and ps2

i love how this strayed off topic....lol...anyway....

im currently building an M-4 Molot (NATO codename: Bison)...it was the first soviet jet bomber and i decided to make this for a Cold War online event im organizing.....

also, when saying how bad X-Plane is compared to FS, just remember these things:
FS is made by a MASSIVE company with nearly unlimited financial assets while X-plane is buy one guy and a couple others.
Does FS even allow you to download a free demo/update? check out http://www.x-plane.com and download the latest v8 demo, then go here and download a couple planes and see for yourself how it is....
oh, and X-Plane is the only civilian flight sim certified by the FAA to count towards instrument training hours as well as FAA approval for training to get an airline transport certificate.

i am a First Officer at Freeworld Airways, a virtual airline only on x-plane. i currently have type ratings for the B757, B737, A320, EMB-120 Brasilia, Saab 340, Beech 1900D, and the Piper Navajo...
