I made a website on Saturday. It's just a photo gallery, nothing fancy. It's only my second website so constructive criticism is welcome. Also, the pictures are my first batch taken with my first SLR camera.

Note: apparently it is not clear how to get back to the home page and I will fix that. But to get back to the first level click any full sized pic. Voila'.

*EDIT* I fixed the typo that Pupik pointed out :p and tried to make the navigation easier to understand by putting the instruction on top instead of on bottom.

Please be kind :)

Nice job.

You've been to the Olympic Penninsula? I went in 2000, and returning for New Year's in a few weeks. I can't say I was all that impressed with Victoria; nice, but you can't really get around if you just walk on the ferry from Port Angeles, WA.

Some of those are really good pics Milefile. I would say "watch your horizons" though, some are a little tilted.

Good job on the pics though, and nice site design.

Very nice collection, milefile! :)

Thank you for the compliments and constructive criticism guys. There are six more rolls to develop, mostly of Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, a whale boat we went on, the Coho ferry and Victoria Harbor. We didn't see any Orca because it was too late in the season (Oct 12) but we did see other cool stuff. I hope those come out okay.

I made the site with Dreamweaver and all I can say is after hand coding for so long Dreamweaver is certainly a dream.

Pupik, I'd be interested in hearing what the weather is like there on January 1st.

I do all my development in Dreamweaver, apart from the active sections, which is done by hand. Dreamweaver rocks!

I hand-coded too, for ages (to the point of learning it from the W3Consortium...really dry stuff!) and I have to admit, Dreamweaver does a good job. It throws some unnecessary tags in there, but it can create pages for any browser/OS configuration. (Wishing for the new MX, however!)

I've been told that the weather in the area is not as cold as one may think around New Year's...Kathys' uncles and grandparents live in the area; she knows they won't make our wedding (on the other side of the continent), so we're going to visit them. I've been told by transplanted Seattle-ites to expect about 40high-20low degree weather, but not much, if any snow until late January. Good thing we're staying at her grandma's, who's got DSL and a satellite dish!

Whoa that was weird. As far as I can tell, I have been to EVERY place you've taken pictures of! I used to live in Victoria for 3 years. Well, I hope you liked it! I loved it there, and the weather during "winter" is just dark, overcast, with short days and the temp is about 10 degrees celcius, with drizzley rain that is more like a thick mist or fog. It can actually be pretty depressing in the winter, but compared to the winters we normally get in Calgary, it is like summer!

very nice.

I did have to vote for Alexander, for obvious reasons. Hope the new guy comes along fine.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Till later,
AO
