Hi folks.
In the introduction thread I mentioned that I built my own Racing Rig and that I wanted to share it to give and maybe get a few ideas on how to improve it.
When I built it (about a year ago) I didn't have the PS Eye in mind (which I got a week ago).
Now I'm thinking on how to implement it without destroying the sight of the rig.
Well, here's the rig anyways:
Features in the detail-pictures shown above are: adjustable inclination for the steering wheel and the pedals
Here you can see my preferred car maker, or better the badge, and the nice beerholder. actually you can see a few toes as well ^^
Last but not least, the light features: I built in 4 neon tubes, which are noise sensitive as well, so it gets brighter when you rev the (virtual) engine or you're manhandling the pedals
I built it out of squarepipes which I welded together to a frame and metal sheets, which I screwed to the frame. and to finish it off, I gave it to a painter for a powedercoating-finish to make it more resistant to fluids (sweat, beer...) as well as make it nice to look at.
The seat is a 70's racing seat from Scheelmann, which is quite comfortable, when playing FIFA with friends they mostly want to sit in the rig because its just so comfy...I took that always for a compliment
Greets, major.
