Just had to make one..
So had this game for about a month now and its pretty amazing. A bit similar to the older games, but Im use to these GT games by now. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but just had to vent on a few things I despise.
So here are my top 4 things I cannot stand about this game.. Maybe if some of these change later on in the game, correct me, but I dont think this will be happening..
#1 - As Im sure most of you find this completely and utterly disgusting just as I do.. What the hell is up with standard(used) cars not being allowed to have custom wheels put on them. If Im not mistakin, nothing except spoilers can be put on them. Like seriously? I rarely buy used cars now because you can't customize them visually. What a downgrade from GT4 in this department.
#2 - No fast forwarding in replay. Or at least non that I know of. For example something cool happens in lap 3... Now I have to sit and wait for 3 laps to see 4 seconds of the cool thing that happened. WTF polyphony?? In GT4 you just push down on L3 and thats it. Also I hate how you cant turn off data in the replays on views other then the main cinematic looking one.
#3 - Moving along.. Single player competitions. For the past 13 years since the original GT was released, these guys still haven't figured out something so basic.. Why can't they be more specific with whats required for each competition? In the earlier games you had no idea what horsepower you had to be at to make the races fun. It was a shot in the dark. You either over tune your car, or under tune. You would always have to come unprepared to races, exit out, make the changes, and come back and hope your prepared this time, but not too prepared or it will be too easy.. Now in the newer games, they tell you how much horsepower your opponents have but put "UNRESTRICTED TIRES" so basically you can use racing super soft and blow past everyone. But what if you wanna make it more challenging for yourself? You decide to get Sport Soft.. Guess what!? The computer has Racing Hard and you know nothing about it.. Just freakin great Polyphony.. Keep half assing single player.
#4 - Last but not least, what the hell is up with the online experience? Aside from the whole system being sub-par compared to XBOX 360 racing game online modes.. Why are hosts givin the choice to start races or just keep it in practice mode? Everyone just keeps it in practice mode and I just feel like theres no point of even being there. Why can't they just have a similar system like in Prologue AT THE LEAST with set rules and set competitions.. No questions about tires, or about cars causing unbalanced gameplay.. Just get in and have competitive racing. Maybe even get stuff for it. Here you get nothing except dropped for being too good or lagging. And why are the restrictions so wide? You cant choose a specific tire.. It has a to be a specific type. So you'll have players unknowingly choosing hard when everyone else has soft. It should all be pre-set, your not suppose to have to set it. Also why do you need to transfer your cars to favorites to use them online? Thats so stupid. Why not just have them ready to use??????? Thats like extra work right there.
Ok I feel much better now.. It would really make my day for everyone to just agree and move on because its the right thing to do and because I know what Im talking about, but its never that easy. Thanks for reading.
