I would like to rant about the ratings on RMR in MC:LA. I generally build cars that I would drive in real life and so I always rate according to these principals. I usually build a cars that are slammed or have a slight rake. Sometimes with muscle cars I slam the front and jack up the back. As far as wheels I usually make them wide as possible all the way around. Ill do wheels that the tires are not rubber bands and sometimes with muscle Ill do bigs and littles. With paint I generally dont do graphics except with imports sometimes if Im trying to get that The Fast and The Furious tuner look I might do graphics. If I do graphics I generally keep it simple and tasteful. Most of my cars though are just paint and ill generally use metallic sometimes pearl and matte and the odd time, sparkle. The majority of my cars have the two tone effect on them because I like the colour change effect it gives the car.
Before I continue ranting I want give you some general rules I use when rating rides:
Donks: automatic 1
Theme cars: automatic1 ,the exception being car themes (race cars, police cars, Grave Digger and Ghostbusters replicas) and the exception being the Lightning McQueen Z06 I think because Lightning McQueen is not a real car in real life
Swearing or Foul Language: automatic 1
Risky Content: automatic 1, Examples: anything to do with Pot and that Gallardo with the naked chicks on it
Crappy Workmanship: automatic 1 Example: where a cars graphics are the same on both sides and a word backward on one side
Rubber Band tires: -1 generally
Stock cars: automatic 1
So it angers me that the top cars are always what I call theme cars. I understand that they take a lot of work but under my principles they dont make sense. To give you an idea the top ten on Social Club(PS3) are:
1. Roadrunner and Will E. Coyote Murcilageo (theme car)
2.Leagalize Pot Gallardo (theme car & risky content)
3. Graffiti inspired Gallardo ( OK)
4. S7 with flat black with various burgundy graphics (OK)
5.Ghostbusters S7 ( Theme car exception)
6. Playboy S7 (borderline)
7.Lightning McQueen Z06 (theme car)
8.Superman Gallardo (theme car)
9. Race car inspired Murcilageo ( Theme car exception)
10.Race car inspired RS4 ( Theme car exception)
Earlier today I checked on my PS3 what was just outside the top 10 and I found the top Boss 302 on the 2nd or 3rd page which I was happy about because being a ford guy I generally havent found a one I didnt really like unless someone really butchered it. So I click on it to my surprise it was horrible. (WARNING: Now there going to be foul language so make sure theres no little ones present)
On one side it said If you Like P***Y rate 9 or 10
the other side it said If you Like A** rate 9 or 10
On the hood it said If you Like girls rate 9 or 10
On the trunk it said if you dont leave
An the funny thing it had a rating of between 8.5-8.9. I just shook my head, I dont understand why garbage like that gets good ratings.
Yet I just built a Camaro Concept in tribute to the 69 Indy Pace Car and I really liked how it looked because I dont like the new Camaro but all I got was 4.45. I generally 4.9 or lower for my cars. I struggle to get 5 or higher. The Highest I ever got was a Cobra Concept I did, it had the wide body kit was Metallic dark blue with back stripes Big wheels same colour as the car full blue tint windows. I think the Interior was blue and I think I added the tach but I dont remember if I did the seats or the wheel. It got a 6.36, I dont understand the people on there.
